one: the appointment.
"Thank you,"
"No problem miss, have a great day!"
Little did she know, she earns herself a smile from the cab driver.
The morning breeze hits her. She scoffs, fidgeting on her button up sweater and fixes the scarf that is wrapped neat around her neck.
She taps her walking stick on the pavement. The hustle bustle of the busy city around her doesn't stop from her from hearing her own stick's tap sounds.
The fact that she needs a walking stick ever since an incident happened gives her more sparks of annoyance.
Starting her pace, she carefully taps the stick and follows it closely. She bites her bottom lip slightly as she inhale a big amount of air at once, attempting to gain some relaxation.
She couldn't stay relaxed, knowing the fact she is here for an appointment.
Not just an ordinary appointment. This time it is different. This is important.
An appointment which she'd miss the world for.
"Good morning, how can I help you miss?" A voice to be heard greets her—causing her to form her first smile of the day.
"Uh," She clears her throat. "I'm, here for Doctor Jenkin's appointment?"
"Doctor Jenkin? Please give me a minute."
Digging through her bag quick, she pulls out a card with a little Braille letter which spells out J at the corner of it. "Here's, um card."
The clerk's finger slides on hers to get a grip of the card.
"Oh," Says the clerk. "Miss, please wait in front of his office." Feeling a grip on her upper arm, she follows—believing it'd lead her to the place she needed to go.
"Nurse 446! We need you!" She hears from behind, causing her to turn.
"But I have to take-"
"It's okay, go. I can walk on my own." She smiles.
"Uh," She smells hesitancy in 446's voice. "Okay go straight. Really straight. Take the door. The walls around you should have a rough rocky surface."
It amazes her. The hospital actually cares about people like her—that they made different wall surfaces for them.
She walks nervously, not knowing what she's going to get today. The river of thoughts continue flowing through her little beautiful mind as she continues walking.
"Ouch!" She flinches slightly. She had accidentally hit something—more like a person.
"Oh my god, are you alright?" A husky voice with southern accent makes an appearance, sending her strange shivers.
"Yes." Her small voice replies back softly.
"Look I'm sorry"
"I'm sorry"
They say in unison.
The owner of the husky voice chuckles soft, as she follows.
"I'm sorry, I can't see."
"I can't see too, fair enough." Sudden excitement hits her, how she met someone who shares the same black world as hers.
"I'm meeting Doctor Jenkin. See you around," Nervousness showing clearly, she starts pacing away.
"Wait!"
"What?"
"I'm here for Jenkin, too."
"Oh?" She let out a sound.
"We shall walk together," The suggestion makes her smile wide.
"Why not?"
Helping themselves in seats, they're mute. The awkward silence flies around them—only the air cons are to be heard other than the busy hospital environment from outside of the door.
"So. . ." She trails off.
"Demitri."
Guessing it's the name, she replies, "Josa."
"What a pretty name."
She blushes.
This. She never feel this way before, or at least so deep inside in her memory land. The tingles of getting to know a person. She misses it.
"I'm smiling," He says.
"Interesting."
"I'm very curious to know how you're feeling and what expressions you're making, well. ."
She laughs. "I'm currently still in the heat of blush for your statement earlier."
Now he laughs. "Interesting."
Another silence walks through the two blind persons.
The sound of door bursting catches their attentions. "Hello, I'm Doctor Jenkin. Ready for your appointment?"
