He had managed to arrange it so that everyone who would have expected him to be in one place now expected him to be in another, and so no one knew precisely where he was at any given moment. He had a sudden qualm that if anything horrible happened to him in the tunnel no one would know where he was and he would probably be buried alive, lying there, undiscovered for centuries.
