CHAPTER TWO

1464 Words
Amelia’s POV I have lived 18 years on earth, and not once was I allowed to go to any of the special occasions. Why? I didn’t fit in or was too scared to be judged as an Omega. I didn’t know what to expect, but with Camila by my side, I feel a little safe. “Do you think I can be able to find my mate?” I asked Camila, and she nodded slowly before laughing out loud. “I think so. She replied slowly as we approached the venue. My mouth flung open at the sight of the ceremony. There were a lot of people scrambling around, and the venue was well decorated. "Wow, there are a lot of people here.” I gushed in amazement. "Well, it’s Damien’s birthday ceremony, and he is the soon-to-be Alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack; of course, a lot of people will be here.” With a lot of people around, I fear I might not find my mate. I prayed silently to the moon goddess to let me meet my mate. See you, mate. Camila joked, pointing to one of the nastiest bullies in the pack. No way! I exclaimed as I spoke softly, and she pushed me slightly off her, mistakingly touching my burns. “Ouch!” I said as I bumped into someone. I almost fell, but I regained my balance, and I looked over to see who I bumped into, and it was a young girl. She looked at me in disbelief. Camila pulls me close. “That’s Damien’s girlfriend, Isabella. She is the soon-to-be Luna; she is quite the mean girl.” Camila whispers to me. "Oh, my poor self, why do I always stir up trouble whenever I go? She stands up from the floor and dusts her dress. I tried to help, but she quickly slapped my hand away. “I am so sorry. I quickly apologized, hoping she wasn’t angry at me. But a slap landed on my face instead. “You low life Omega, how dare you! She fumes in anger, and everyone starts to gather around. As I rub my chin in pain, “Those Omegas just have a way of stirring up trouble where ever they go!” Someone says in the crowd, and some start to mumble, I wish the floor would open up and swallow me. Someone starts walking towards us, and everyone starts to make way for him to pass. I wonder who it was. He alludes a certain power and dominance that made people fear him. “It’s Damien," someone whispers to me. And everyone starts to murmur. I am definitely in trouble; her boyfriend is probably coming to fight for her. As he came closer, my eyes landed on him, and I couldn’t help but gulp at how handsome he looked. I have always heard people say he is the finest man in the whole of the Bloodmoon pack, and I agree. This man is fine; his eyes landed on me, and something stirred up in me. I felt a mix of sensations flow through me. It felt strange and foreign. Mate! We both said in unison. Everyone screams in disbelief. The soon-to-be Alpha Damien is mated to a lowly omega. His green eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at me from up to down, judging me. Damien, with eyes as green as the forest, had expectations of a different kind. He was anticipating his longtime girlfriend, Isabella, to be revealed as his fated mate today. Yet the moon goddess had paired him with a lowly omega. The shock and disbelief echoed through the pack, and Damien knew what he had to do. “I, Damien Falcon Alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack, reject you, Amelia Spence, as my mate.” As the words left his mouth, my world came crashing down as I fell to my knees. Pain as hot as flowing lava ran through her body. “I can’t accept a lowly Omega as my mate!” Everyone around me starts to laugh at me. Never have I ever felt what I’m feeling right now; the pain feels like boiling hot pins being slowly pressed into every sinew and muscle in my body. My chest feels as though a very confident elephant is lying on it. I couldn’t breathe; every breath caused spikes of acid to run through my blood. My body basically wants to die, and my wolf seems to be ok with this. But I am not. I grit my teeth and try to ignore the cruel chuckles coming from my ‘pack’. Every disgusting sound feels like a lash to my oversensitive skin. My eyes are burning with tears that are fighting to spill out. I feel my own wolf stir, and his whimpers fill my mind. I growl slowly at him; his eyes grow wide. He’s stunned that I would openly show my distaste for him. My eyes fall on her; her dyed black hair and brown eyes make me want to puke on her. My wolf, even in pain, flinches at the sight of someone else on his arm, and that makes me angry. Their laughter ceases to be heard in small murmurs. I grit my teeth as I push myself up from the ground, ignoring the jelly-like feeling in my limbs, but even when I stand, I am still half crunching in pain, sweat building up on every one of my body parts. I glare at ‘him’ and his girlfriend. They eye me up and down carefully, and I see something flicker across my mate's face—pain and regret? “What?’’ She hisses. I swallow the burning pain fluttering around my body. “I said you’re pathetic; I wouldn’t ever reject my mate like this, and if I saw someone in pain, I wouldn’t laugh at them. You are all pathetic, and I wish I was never born into this pack.” My vision flickers as burning pain resonates through my body. My eyes land on my mate, and an intense hatred spreads through my body, making bile pile up in my mouth. Isabella chuckles brazenly as she flicks her hair over her shoulder and stares at me crudely. “You think he cares? No, he doesn't; he has me as a mate, not some low-breed omega’’. Her words are sharp, and this does hurt. Hearing my status being pulled into this mix is a very raw thing. I flinch at the coldness of her voice and the way her face scrunches in anger; it’s an ugly thing to witness. I turn my gaze away from her to my mate; he had a stupid smirk on his face, and I curse my heart for speeding up. I didn’t understand what I did to the moon goddess to deserve such a humiliating fate; he had to be my mate out of every wolf there could have been. My body sways as the pain intensifies. "You are not wanted here!” Isabella says. They turned and started walking away. My vision flickered as intense pain ran through my body. My whole dream is of my mate saving me from the hell I live in. Why? Why did you reject me? I asked him as he walked off, but Isabella turned to face me, and she raised her hands to slap me, but Damien held her hands instead. My eyes widened at his actions. “You don’t need to waste your energy on a lowly Omega.” The laughter in the crowd erupts again as they walk slowly to me, pointing their fingers and laughing at me. I felt so little and powerless. I wish the floor would open and swallow me. I pushed through the crowd as I ran away from them. I ran and ran till I felt out of breath, and I came to a stop. More tears rolled their way to my face as I cried out. Why is the world so cruel to me? What did I do to deserve this humiliation? Why did the moon goddess pair me with someone as cruel as Damien? The only thing that had kept me away again was the thought of finding my mate and him taking me away. Why did I get paired with someone who would reject me in front of the whole pack? I broke down into more tears as my chest tightened. I heard a footstep behind me, and I turned swiftly to see who it was. In front of me was Camila; she was panting heavily. “Leave me alone, Camila.” I said slowly, knowing she had come to comfort me. “We are under attack by the rival pack!” My mouth flung open.
