Chapter 12

~MIA’S POV~

I walk into the cafe to see a girl looking down at her shoes with bright red hair. Which could only mean it was Aurora. I walk in a little further and she doesn't seem to notice me. I know Aurora so well that there is only one way to get her attention and that's surprising her.

"Aurora!!!" I scream.

She looks up and smiles while waving.

"Hey Aura. You OK." I ask.

She looks over at me and cries into my shoulder.

"Awe what’s wrong hunny?"

"Everything Mia!" she cries harder and I start rubbing her back.

"Awe Hun you can tell me anything, but don't you think we should get you home before your dad gets mad?"

"Yeah I guess..."

I stand up and grab onto Aura's arm and pull her up to my surprise she yelps in pain. I look at her shocked.

"What the hell happened to you? Who in the world would hurt you?"

"I-I-I got a cut."

"Aura who did it?"

"Thorne..."

"Who?"

"One of Echo's followers."

"Oh..."

"Mhmm please don't do anything about this Tranquility is already taking care of it."

"Well she isn't doing a good enough job!" I say.

"Please don't start, I really don't want you to get involved in this."

"Too late"

“please Mia. I know you don’t like seeing e hurt but I have this under control.”

“oh really? And just what exactly is Tranquility going to do about this?”

“I don’t know just yet.”

“I really don’t like her Aurora.”

“why because of the rumors going on about her?”

“It’s not just that!”

“What is it than?”

“she isn’t a good person for you to be around.”

“Why?”

“Because!”

“Because why?”

“If you didn’t hang out with her this wouldn’t happen!”

“you think this is her fault?”

“Yes! She is the most bullied girl in school and hanging out with her just puts a huge target on your back!”

“Echo hates me for her own reason, staying away from Tran wouldn’t change anything.”

“Ugh, whatever, lets just go.”

“Fine.”

~AURA'S POV~

We left the school and Mia mentioned how she wants me to meet her boyfriend James I agreed but he’s taking his sweet time getting here.

"Come on M, it's almost 4 I need to get home."

"Stop worrying you'll be fine." She says calmly. “he will be here soon.”

"But what if I won’t be M?" 

"I promise! Just a little longer OK?"

"We better be quick!" I snap.

Mia laughs and continues to play with her hair. Mia has short blue hair and pretty blue eyes; she usually wears a dark shade of black eye shadow which makes her pale face 10 times paler. 

"Aura I just really want you to meet him...” She says softly using my nickname.

"I know you want me to meet your boyfriend, but I need to get home I don't feel like getting beaten twice in one day." I say.

"I know. I guess we should get going then." She says sadly.

"Thanks, I'm sorry about rushing you." I say as we both get up to start walking back to my place.

Out of the corner of my eye I see a boy with no shirt on running towards us.

"Mia! I'm so sorry I took so long!" The boy says as he wraps his arms around her.

I turn to Mia. "I'm guessing this is your boy toy?"

She smiles slightly "Yeah... isn't he just dreamy?"

"Ehh, I’ve seen better." I laugh.

James chuckles and kisses Mia’s forehead. He has short black hair and is well built. He’s wearing a pair of shorts and a silver dog tag. His eyes are dark brown, and he also has a little bit of stubble on his face. But he isn't my type.

I start thinking about Vincent and what he looked like. His eyes were an electric blue and his hair was black, but it was also styled in a way that made my heart swell. It looked like it was two days since he last shaved. But than there was Thorne, he was just like his brother, but he had shorter hair and his eyes were a little crazier. He has a rough exterior, but I bet he’s a softie on the inside. I remember the look in his eyes when he learned I was alive, pure relief.

"Aura?"

I turn to face the two love birds. "Yeah?"

"Were you even paying attention?"

"Uhm, Maybe?" I reply.

"I was saying, if you would like we can walk you back to your place."

"Oh, you don't have to I mean you can do what you want instead of taking care of me. I can do that part on my own." I say.

"You sure?" James asks, surprisingly.

"Yeah I'm positive you guys go have fun I'll walk home." I say with a fake smile, but they don't seem to notice.

"Alright, see you around!"

"Yup, bye."

I watch them walk away. At first, they were just walking side by side holding hands then he wraps his arm around her shoulder. She responds quickly and wraps her arm around his waist. They are so cute together and yet she doesn't even know how lucky she is. She has people who love her while I'm all alone. I quickly turn around and hurry home.
