Will surprised himself the next morning by showing up to work on time. The bullpen was empty when he crossed it at twenty-five minutes after eight, and he considered loitering just to prove to his fellow officers he had managed to show up before they did. Even dispatch was running late. The only person to notice Will’s arrival was Sorensen, who stood outside her office with her arms crossed and a severe look of displeasure on her face. “Moore,” she barked. “My office, now.” “What?” Will joked as he climbed the few steps to the walkway that skirted the bullpen. “Are you gonna b***h me out for being early?” “I’m gonna b***h you out for defying orders,” she snapped.
