Chapter 5
Shaun dropped Ellie off and though she seemed a bit distracted, she insisted everything was okay. Taking her word for it, he kissed her goodbye, and she said she’d bring by a pizza after work. Yet all he could think about was having her n***d beneath him again.
He ran into town to grab a few groceries, but when he got to the door, his cellphone rang. Slipping it out of his pocket, he wasn’t surprised to see the number flashing on the screen.
If anything, he expected to hear from him sooner. Before his last case, he’d been forced on desk duty, then immediately requested to use his accrued time off, but they gave him leave with pay instead, since he’d just lost his partner.
