Unsure what to do!

Zaria POV

I can’t deal with being harassed the whole they are married or even be ruined. I wouldn’t be able to work in this town if I was exposed for sleeping with a married man. After I left Alex’s office I called off for the remainder of the day. I called Kayla and Paul to meet me at the Lounge Bar I needed a drink and to talk to my friends badly. I’ve been thinking about quitting my job, it’s too much to bare to work there and see them on a daily basis. Especially her to flaunt their marriage in my face to show that I can’t have him. I arrived at the Lounge Bar before the two of them and decided to order a Lemon drop martini.

Deep in my thoughts drinking my drink that tastes oh so amazing, my phone kept ringing and it’s Alex. I can’t talk to him right now I just need to blow off some steam. My friends arrived soon after he stopped calling. My friends knew something was up, I only call them in the middle of the day like this for drinks when something was wrong.

“Whats wrong”, they said in unison.

“Let’s order you guys a drink and me another one before I start” I said.

As I signaled the waiter over to order drinks. Paul ordered a Patron Margarita, Kayla ordered a Malibu hurricane and I ordered a Cosmo and three shots of tequila. I knew I should’ve been mixing but what the hell. I needed my mind off of things that is Alex. After the waiter left I started.

“Guys I’m unsure what to do about Alex and the situation we are in well I am in. Today his fiancé paid me a visit at work and gave me pictures of me and Alex out and about and being intimate with each other. She also said that she could ruin my reputation and get me fired from my job if I don’t leave him alone”. Paul and Kayla sat there with their mouths agape taking in all the information I was spilling. Paul was the first to say something

“You want me to beat a b*tch up cuz you know I will especially for f*cking with my friend the way she is doing. First of all that man doesn’t even want her. Second it’s just a business contract, she acting like she won this man fair and square. Third I will come for her if she keep on.

Kayla piped in next “yea I’m unsure what her problem is. Paul is right all of this that she is doing is uncalled for and will not help her win the man if that’s what she is trying to do”.

We remained silent for a moment while our drinks were being brought over. As he sat the drinks down I ordered us some appetizers to coat our bellies after all this drinking. We sat there talking and laughing and catching up with each other for a few hours before deciding to leave each other and go our separate ways. As I walked out of the bar I was met by Alex.

Alex POV

Bob had given me her coordinates and she was at a bar around the corner from my office. So I finished up the contracts and signed a few documents that needed my signature and left to meet my love. I caught her as she was exiting the bar. She seem surprised to see me but I’m sure she wasn’t due to the fact that I called her multiple times and my calls went unanswered.

“Alex what are you doing here” she said as she looked around to make sure no one was watching.

“I came for you my love what else. I have something to show you can we go to this quiet cafe down the street please” I said.

She was kind of hesitant at first but she couldn’t resist once she looked into my sad puppy dog eyes. “Okay, but not to long I have some things to do”.

“Give me half an hour and I’ll let you go and do whatever you need to” I croaked and led the way to the cafe.

We arrived at the cafe and I picked us a seat away from the window in a quiet corner of the cafe. I called the waiter over to order us some drinks, Zaria needed some coffee of some sort I can smell the alcohol on her. She ordered a flavored iced coffee while I ordered a hot black coffee, some danishes, and donuts. After the waiter left I started because I didn’t have much time.

I passed her some ear buds to put in her ear and said “put these in your ear I have something you need to hear”. She did as told and once she did I pressed play to let her hear the conversation I had with my parents. While she was listening our drinks and sweets arrived.

After she finished listening I put my finger to my mouth indicating her to be quiet I wasn’t finished. I then passed her the new revised contracts and let her look them over before letting her respond.

“Okay, what does this have to do with me. It still doesn’t change that fact that she can still hurt or harass me. The whole point of us picking this up after your marriage is so I can show my face in this town. I came here when I was 18 years old due to the fact I couldn’t stay in my home town because there are just too many memories there good and bad. I wasn’t saying this because I don’t want to be with you which I do. I just can’t or won’t deal with the drama of it all. Please do not make me, we can still talk and text but not be on a level where we are dating or you sneaking around to see me” she said.

I was silent for a moment before responding “Okay I can certainly understand that. So if you will not accept me back in your life on a personal level how about you become my personal assistant on a work level?!

“Let me think it over and I’ll give you an answer”. I cut her off before she said anything else. “Tomorrow, give me an answer tomorrow. After that I won’t be available until this wedding/honeymoon is over. I may be gone for about a couple months and I’ll need my personal assistant up to date with everything”.

She nodded her head in understanding what I just told her. We sat there for another two hours enjoying each other’s company not wanting to leave. In the end when we were departing I said

“I still want to purchase the house that you want, so once you have decided shoot me a text and I’ll get the ball rolling. I slid the black card in her purse as she wasn’t looking along with a letter and kissed her goodbye. We went separate ways and I made sure she made it to her car safely before departing to see my parents and the other half.

Charles (Alex father) POV

I figured my son would find out sooner or later! I would rather it have been later rather than sooner. Jake has been my best friend for over 15 years I couldn’t just leave him out to hang if I could help him. I had been giving Jake money for about 7 years now due to their business going belly up. I knew I wouldn’t been able to continue giving him money before Alex found out. I know every once in a while Alex checks on all the accounts to make sure they are still good and making money as usual. Jake has been needing more and more money lately and I wouldn’t been able to give without raising suspicion. So me and my wife came up with the plan for him and Jake’s daughter Jennifer to get married. The plan was for them to be married for two years while attaining the money, power and trustworthiness needed to get their business back afloat. We all signed contracts for us all to be quiet and not let Alex know anything about this. If one of us voiced our concerns or contract details we would be held liable for any damage done. When Alex found out everything was ruined almost. Me and my wife started to wonder how did he come about into looking into all this.I just hoped my son didn’t make too many revisions to the contract as we all awaited for him to arrive at La Bella a fancy restaurant in the suburban area of C Town. He called an hour ago and said he was running late I just hope he gets here soon, Jennifer is looking like she wants to blow a gasket.
