WHO SHE IS

CHAPTER 7 Estan and Ada sat uneasily on the chairs in front of Anon, while he scrutinized each page inside the folder, seemingly dissecting each model on Estan’s submitted list. Ada held their breath. The silence in the room was a little strange and frightening. The boss was too serious as he looked at the profiles of the models Estan submitted. His dark bushy but curved brows were furrowed. His deep-set of amber eyes were like a scanner, going left and right as he gazed at the documents. Those eyes were the only thing moving on his face at the moment. Despite her nervousness, Ada couldn’t help but glance at his perfect facial feature, —a face carved by the gods. The powerful aura surrounding him added to his appeal. It was probably why every single woman he met wanted to submit to him. In her thoughts, the gossips were proven to be true. Her boss has that powerful charm that was so hard to resist and probably why people submit to him as if they were in a trance.  Her vivid contemplation was interrupted, however, when she heard his guttural voice. Estan and Ada almost jumped from the chair when Anon gave his verdict. “I don’t like them—“ “Ah?—“ Estan would like to say something but his tongue froze, when Anon looked at him. “We need someone that could best fit the product that we will launch. Those on file won't.”  Anon said, without expression on his handsome face. “Oh.” Estan released a heavy breath. Still unable to say a single word. Ada was just silently watching the two. Her shaking hands gripped the hand rest of the chair tightly. Her hopes that Anon would give up the search for her went crushing down her feet. “Boss A…the photoshoot will be next week. If we don’t find the model you liked, we cannot hold the launch. Boss the venue had been reserved and the invitations were out,” finally, Estan found his voice. “This product is special—“ Anon shook his head slowly, “I won’t settle with any other model,” he disclosed seriously. Goosebumps crept in Ada’s body and she shivered down her spine. Silently she cursed, “I’m dead, freaking s**t!” “Okay—Here’s a suggestion,” Estan raised his both hands in the air, not willing to give up yet. He needed the photoshoot done, so they could begin printing the materials for the launch. “Speak—“ Anon tilted his head as he looked at him. “Boss A, just for the photoshoot— Can we use a different model?” Estan asked pleadingly. He was desperate.  “Didn't you hear me mention that during our meeting?” Anon’s eyebrows formed a straight line and his eyes looked like spears ready to spin and land on Estan’s throat. Ada could only hold her breath, happy for Estan but her anxiety still lingered. “Ohhh!” Estan’s mouth formed a zero, surprised and happy at the same time, “Yes! Yes! Yes! I remembered it now. Yeah! We will do that,” he chuckled in excitement at least he could proceed with the shoot.  In his mind, they could proceed with the preparation while they wait for the result of finding the damned model he liked. Ada, however, was not relieved at all. Anon didn’t say, he was giving up on the search. She was still unsafe. What if he discovered her? Will she admit to him her secret? Subconsciously, she touched her eyeglasses and pressed them nearer to her eyes, her hand slightly covering her face. It was not her intention to catch the attention of Anon, but her slight movement made him transfer his gaze from Estan to her. Then he remembered, he couldn’t read his secretary’s mind. He tried to focus and tried again if he could read her thoughts given their distance. However, no matter how he focused on her and looked at her more intently, he still couldn’t. He exhaled and opened his mouth, but before he could utter a word, Estan asked him. “Boss A. We will make the model wear a mask. Back view but with a slightly tilted face. I have here two models, which resemble the body form of your preferred model.” Estan took the picture and then showed it to him.  Estan even took the magazine with the face of Ada and opened it to the page where she has a back view. He placed both pictures in front of Anon. “See? Body shape is the same and they almost have the same face shape.” He explained excitedly. “I don't see the similarity.  They don’t have the same facial contour,” Anon commented coldly. Estan was at his wit's end, wondering why his boss was obsessing about the lady model. Despite it, he knew he couldn’t argue with him. He sighed, and uttered, “We will edit first, Boss A! We will make sure she will resemble that of your preferred model.” “Do as you please for the photoshoot. Silver will find that woman.” Ada swallowed the thickened liquid in her throat.  “Yes! Yes, Boss A,” Estan clasped her both hands and placed it near his chest. “By the way,  make sure you provide Ada with a new set of pantsuits, coats, and shirts, or whatever you call them for her office wear. I would like her to work together with you for matters related to the launch,”  He wondered if the reason the secretary was in a way getting his attention was the fact that he was disgusted by her clothing. He had wondered why she was allowed to wear those lousy clothes, when in fact she was representing the office of the President.  Ada's breath hitched.  “Of course, let me take care of it, Boss A,” Estan threw her a triumphant glance.   Ada simply closed her eyes. She knew she had become as pale as a ghost as she was nearing the end of sanity. Now, her disguise would be compromised. Estan and Ada were dismissed after they agreed on what to do. Thirty minutes later "Ahh--" Estan groaned out in frustration as soon as they entered his office. "Seven years--seven years, he didn't bother about the models in whatever product we launch. And now, holy shooots. I will lose my mind on him," "Shhh---Someone might hear you," "I don't know why he's doing it to me--" Estan cried. "Hey! It's the best product I heard of. That was the reason may be why he's so particular on the model," Ada defended him. "I don't know. The wolf's conflict of interest could be a disaster in the making. Hahhhh--" he exhaled heavily, so infuriated with their boss. He was calling the boss ‘wolf ‘ for many years because of Anon’s temper and charisma, which were inherent qualities of a wolf. Ada just looked at him with pity in her eyes, but a few moments later, her thoughts came back to her. All the things happening has something to do with her and the boss's order to find her. She wasn't dreaming and it looks like there was no escaping.  "Holy S--" she screeched. She looked at Estan, expressionless and silent. Ada's thoughts seemed to wander in a faraway land. What could happen next suddenly became out of her control. Estan has no idea of the contents of her thoughts but he remembered why Ada was inside her office space. "Ah. Let's forget the wolf in the meantime. Let me show you the samples," Estan tugged at her hand and they entered another room, where all the stocks could be found. Ada blinked her eyes on the array of racks in front of her.  "Oh, let me see your size dear, hmm. hmm." He assessed her body form and then he got the light-grey pantsuit and an inner shirt."Here, try the size first, hun." In a daze, Ada entered a fitting room and tried the suit on her. She was stunned for a moment while looking at herself in the mirror, and then she came back to her senses. It had been a while since she saw herself in decent clothes. Then she heard Estan's voice, "Ada, come out there and let me see you--"  The pantsuit perfectly fit her body, showing off her form. Ada was at a loss. What would happen to her cover? She silently uttered to herself and her eyes became watery—mist formed in the corners of her eyes. "Ada—" another yell from Estan made her open the door of the fitting room.  Estan grinned as he look into her approvingly, but his grin slowly faded, when his gaze, transferred from her body and settled on her face. He looked at her intensely. He gaped. They were both speechless for about a minute. Neither of them wanted to say a word first. Until Estan finally found his voice, "Oh my goodness Ada--" He slowly raised his hands and took off Ada's eyeglasses in a daze. Ada's mind was inexplicably in a mess, everything happened so suddenly. All Estan did was to look at her intensely and then he knew...
