EPISODE 3: THE TRUTH

1656 Words
AGATHA I was reading a newspaper and I was shocked to read about Prince Luke from Wimbledon. He escaped from the palace and he is nowhere to be found. He has been missing for the past week and it is said that he disappeared with two royal servants that are opposite genders. Anyone who finds them, anywhere in any country will be awarded with ten million in Wimbledon Euros and that is probably almost seventeen million in Waverly Euros. That's a lot, right? My father was watching a soccer match on TV and I was sitting on the couch, imagining what I would do with so much money if I happen to be the one that finds them. My family has been the poorest in this rural place. You know, for me the life that we are living here in this rural area is very quite normal for my family and I. Yes, I do wish that someday, I do go and live in the big cities and do what girls my age do. My dream after finishing highschool, which was two years ago, was to further my studies; and because of lack of money, I couldn't go to university or college. I always wished to study psychology, but I guess I am not lucky enough. It was unfortunate of me. "Mbali!" My grandmother, who is very much better now, calls me. "Yes, grams. I am coming." I close the newspaper and make my way outside. "Take this money and go and buy a small packet of maize meal." I nodded and took the money, before I walked away from the home. I was supposed to be taking the route which led me to the corner shop, but I took the route that sent me to the river. I haven't been there since six months ago. I wonder if it is still how I left it before I went unconscious. When I got there, I found people trying to catch the fish swimming. Some were already swimming in the river and there was litter everywhere. I started having flashbacks about the day we found the river changed into pure clean water. I started remembering my dream… Mama Eve. Several women in white cloths wrapped around their bodies. Everything started making sense. I still haven't told my grandmother, or father about my dreams. They just didn't make any sense to me. "I knew that we were going to meet here, princess." An old woman came from behind me. She had locks on her hair and she was wearing a white dress with red and white beats on her wrists, ankles and neck. She was not wearing any shoes. She hung a bag on her shoulders. "Me?" I asked, sounding unsure if she was indeed talking to me. "You are indeed a listener and what is very important is that you listen to your gut. You were supposed to go where your grandmother sent you, but you came here instead." "Wait, how do you know all that?" I asked. "I am your messenger. Let's take a walk." She said as she led the way. "What do you remember about this river before you fainted?" She asked. With a lot of human trafficking happening in our world for supernatural powers; I should be scared walking with a stranger, but honestly, I feel relaxed. "I think I was communicating with a white man in my head. He was standing across the river. I just don't remember his face and what we communicated about." "Was he not the same man you communicate with in your dreams?" Does she even know about my dreams? Who is this woman? "Who sent you here?" I asked, because I felt like she was stalking me. "The ancestors. I am a messenger between you and the ancestors. You know, I wish I could take you with me to my house, because there is a lot to learn about your gift. You seem to be very clueless and don't know where to start or go about it. I am a seer and I am here to guide you, princess Agatha." I like the fact that she doesn't bush around when I am asking her questions. She gives me straight answers and even more than that. She smiled and sighed, stopping on her tracks. "Do you have time, because I want to tell you a story?" She asked. I don't have time as my grandmother has sent me somewhere else than here and I am supposed to be on my way back home now. But, curiosity got the better of me, I said: "I would love to hear that story." We sat on one big rock and she took out an apple from her bag and I gladly accepted it when she offered. It would have been quite rude if I declined it. "Twenty years ago; in the kingdom of the second richest royal family in the world, which I would like to call the B Royal house. There lived a king and a queen with their three kids. Two girls and one boy. Like any other royal house, there are servants serving in the royal house and guards too. Now, the prince was supposed to be getting married to the arranged wife from the other tribe of royalty, a princess." I chewed on the apple and listened attentively. "The prince by then was already in love with someone who was not from a Royal family… a commoner. The prince knew that there was no way that the King would accept their relationship, so, he and the lady he was in love with, they slept together for the first time and agreed to have a baby, in order for the King to accept their relationship. Eight months later, the Royal seer had a vision about the secret lover of the King and she had a private meeting with the King and Queen, telling them about the prince and that he made someone else pregnant, not realising that one of the servant was standing by the door, eavesdropping on the conversation. "It is already done and there is nothing to do but to accept their relationship." She said it as if it was the King saying it. "And, the King ordered one of the Guards to call the prince after the meeting they had with the seer, but the prince was not there and the girl she impregnated had also disappeared. Next thing, the servant was also missing. A few days later in search for all three of them, we found out that the girl who the prince impregnated had passed away while aborting the baby. The baby also passed away in the process." I don't know why, but I was emotional. "How do you know all this, and why are you telling me? Is it important that I need to know?" I asked. "Because, I am the seer. The royal ancestors were telling me something else. Giving me different signs that the child was still alive. The servant had done something to kill the girl. The servant took both the prince and the baby to a different place so that the King wouldn't find them." "But, why? Why was the servant so cruel? Why did she do all that?" "She wanted to use the child for her evil doings." She took my hand and brushed the back of it. "How so?" "She knew that the child had a gift from the ancestors. Now that the girl has recently discovered her calling, she wants to use her. She wants her to do evil work for her." I shook my head as I realised something. "That girl… is it me?" Without uttering a single word, she nodded. I quickly got up and looked at her very shocked. "My father, is the prince?" "He is supposed to be a king now, princess. I know this is shocking, but don't do anything as yet or ask too many questions. You might make her do something that might take you a few steps back. According to the ancestors, you were supposed to start with the Journey of your gift in your teen years, but the ancestors were holding it until you were mature enough to handle it." "You are going to meet someone from Wimbledon. He is going to need you as much as you will need him. You are going to love each other and help each other. You are going to have a romantic relationship with him. It won't be easy with all the obstacles you are going to face, but believe me. You are going to be happy, one day." "Take this and protect it. You will know when to use it. You will get messages from the ancestors or even signs. You do know that everything has a meaning, right?" She took off her bag and handed it over to me. *** My father and I have been living poor and for as long as I can remember, only to find out that we are important people. I am going to really need to talk to my father, but I need to be smart. I don't even know how I am going to get us out of this mess. I wanted to find out more about my father's family, but I had no time as I had to go back home. "I sent you an hour and forty minutes ago to a shop around the corner which could only take you eight minutes to and from the shop and you are only coming back now? What has gotten into you? Are you dating now!?" My grandmother has been on me for the past hour now. Unfortunately, my father is not here to save me. He works as a security guard somewhere at a supermarket. "No! I was with Nancy. I am sorry, grams." "You better be!" She clucked her tongue. ***
