Trying to run away from her chaotic past, Wendy Kirst transfers to Crawfordsville High, wishing to have a more peaceful and invisible life. She tries her best not to associate herself with people, afraid that they'd be tainted with the danger haunting her. But she finds herself in the limelight when she gets entangled with the elites, most specifically, Kaiser Aldeguer, who is tagged as the school's emperor. And as much as she tries to disassociate herself from him, fate seems to string them together in what seemed to be a bittersweet destiny. There seems to be some sort of a magical connection that binds them together. And to her surprise, the irascible and heartless emperor--oddly--vows to protect her for reasons and intentions yet unknown. However, he demands that she unfolds to him the danger of a life that's been chasing her. But how can she do so when she has no idea of what she's running away from? How could he protect her when they both don't know what awaits them ahead?
