1944 – Belgium The next day, Lewis already felt much better, after a good night's sleep. Even with the bed feeling like a bag of potatoes, and a few men that had still died during the night, this was the best sleep he had had in months. And by the start of the new day, he felt fresh and reborn. Now, he was actually able to sit straight and to look around the room. There were so many badly injured inside this place, it gave him the chills. And he wondered how many of them would still die, before this war would be completely over. And he decided not to befriend any of them. He had already lost too many friends in this damned war, and right now, he only had eyes for the one thing that truly mattered to him, which was Melanie.
