Chapter 8

NAPAPRANING NA SI Bryan kung ano ang gagawin niya para mapaamo si Lyka. Since that day he asked her to be his girl, she was avoiding him. She was really avoiding him that it pisses him off. Kung bakit kasi hindi niya hininay-hinay ang dalaga dahilan para mas lalo itong lumayo sa kanya. Okay na sana pero atat kasi siya. Well, what can he do? Since he met her again, personally this time, she was on his mind always. Grabe ang tama niya sa dalaga. Ang maamo nitong mukha na kay sarap titigan lalo na kapag namumula ito. Ang mapupungay nitong mata at katamtamang tangos ng ilong at ang mapupulang labi na kay sarap halikan. Plus her luscious curvy body though she was lightly thin yet bumagay sa tangkad nito. She was approximately five feet five inches in height. Pwede itong magmodelo but thank God she didn't thought of that dahil baka mapatay niya ang lahat nang hahanga sa dalaga. Possessive kahit hindi pa naman sila.

"What?" pabalang na sagot niya sa tawag. It was Sebastian again.

"I heard something interesting." Nangungutya ang tinig nito.

"That's none of your business," he said and ended the call despite Sebastian has something to say. He thought if he wanted to say something important rather than a rumor, he will tell it personally to him.

He tapped his fingers on the wheel thinking of what to do then glance on the bag in the passenger seat. He didn't expect that she will act that way. He thought if he took it then she would follow. Women treasured their bags or he thought so. Lyka was different from them at alam na niya ito despite the fact that she came from a wealthy family. He did some research and he found out. He just wondered why they came here in the city and lived a very simple life.

He took his phone and dialled a number. "Send me her address." And waited for few seconds. He took a look on the address sent to him and memorized it. Why not personally visit her?

It took a while before he found her address. He parked his car infront of an opened gate where he could see different farm products that were displayed. No one was there so he invited himself in and called for Lyka but an old woman came to greet him.

"Si Lyka ba ang hanap mo, hijo?" magalang na tanong nito sa kanya. He wanted to laugh on how the old woman took a glance at him from head to toe.

"Magandang gabi po. Si Lyka nga po ang hanap ko," magalang na sagot niya rito. He wanted to win her trust so he must be patience.

"Naku, wala pa rito ang batang iyon. Ano ba ang kailangan mo?" tanong nito sa kanya.

"Naiwan po kasi niya iyong bag niya." Then showed the bag he was holding.

The old woman recognized the bag and immediately took it from him. "Naku, salamat. Nag-aalala na siguro iyon sa kakahanap."

"Alam po niyang nasa akin po ang bag niya," he informed her not to worry at Lyka. "Hmmmm. Tinakbuhan po niya kasi ako."

With his words the old woman's forehead creased so he explained it to her in a way he won't be misunderstood. The old woman kept on nodding at him. After he explained his intention, he asked the old woman's blessing and permission if he could court Lyka.

"Hindi ko hawak ang damdamin ng anak ko. Kaya siya lamang ang makakasagot niyan. Pero sana seryoso ka sa kanya dahil marami na siyang pinagdaanang sakit at ayokong dumagdag ka pa," sagot nito sa kanya at naiintindihan naman niya ito.

"Salamat ho kung ganoon. Sana huwag niyo ho akong pagbawalan na bisitahin siya rito. Mabuti po ang intention ko sa kanya," pakiusap niya sa matanda.

"Mabuti naman kung ganoon. Mas mainam na rito ka manligaw keysa kung saan-saan," sagot namn nito sa kanya.

Magiliw na nagpaalam siya sa matanda dahil gumagabi na rin naman. Then he took out the take-out food from the car which he forgot and gave it to her. Umayaw pa ito noong una ngunit nagpumilit siya hanggang sa kinuha rin nito ang pagkain. He gave out a triumph smile as he drove away from Lyka's home.

The next morning, he didn't expect Sebastian to personally see him just because of the rumor s***h truth about this woman he was chasing. Yes, he was chasing Lyka and that's the truth. What can he do? He was struck by the arrow of Cupid, so deep and so hard. He'll go crazy, crazy crazy inlove with her.

"So who's the unfortunate girl?" Sebastian asked bluntly making her face frowned.

"Unfortunate? How could you say that? Loving me was the greatest happiness any woman can have!” he exclaimed making Sebastian cringe his head with disbelief.

The two walked together to his office. Mukhang hindi talaga siya tatantanan nito dahil talagang sumama pa ito sa kanya hanggang sa opisina niya. Then he stilled.

He didn't expect to see his love of his life, infront of his office, waiting for him to arrive. Namumula sa galit ang mukha nito habang nakatingin sa kanya. Not minding he was with someone.

"Hindi ka ba talaga nakakaintindi na hindi ko gustong makipaglapit sa iyo? At talagang sinadya mo pa ako sa bahay namin!" bungad nito sa kanya. "Wala ka man lang bang delikadesa?"

"Good morning too, mi amore." He grinned widely seeing her face turned into red. She was so beautiful and cute. What a nice way to start a day!

"I'm warning you!" gigil na wika nito sa kanya na may kasama pang pagturo sa kanya.

"I'm warning you too to braise yourself because I won't stop until I get your answer. Ngayon lang ako nagkaganito sa isang babae and lucky you." He was full of confidence as he uttered those words to her.

"You've been dumped for couple of times yet you haven't learned your lesson? Want to humiliate yourself further?"

He just grinned at her then she walked out from them, fists balled because of anger at him.

"See you at lunch time, mi amore!" pahabol pa nito.

Parang wala na itong narinig dahil sa patuloy na paglakad nito palayo sa kanila. He looked at Sebastian and he was just looking at him, amused of what he just did.

"What?" tanong niya kay Sebastian nang makapasok na sila sa loob ng kanyang opisina but he was still gawking at him.

"I heard you're ogling a teenage girl. Rumors are really not good," sagot nito sa kanya.

He shrugged his shoulders at him and started working the papers in front of him. "What brought you here? Sigurado naman akong hindi ka lang pinag-ispiya ni Papa dahil doon."

Natawa lang ito sa tinuran niya. But then his face became serious.

"You know your father. A distraction was not acceptable especially now that---"

"She's not a distraction!" putol niya sa sabihin nito.

"Well not now, but soon will be. Believe me, Felix and your father wouldn't like that," Sebastian fixed his coat and stood up before walking out the door.

He took a deep breathe before proceeding to what he was doing. Lunch time came and he went to the cafeteria where employees ate their lunch. Everyone looked at him as he walked towards the line where everyone gets their food. No wonder he got his attention because this is the first time he set foot in here. After taking his meal, he roamed around looking for her and there he saw her eating alone. He hurriedly went to her side and sat infront of her.

"Bon Appétit, mi amore."

"I lost my appetite. Enjoy!" She stood up and about to walked away from him when he grabbed her arm to stop her.

"Everyone?!" he said loudly making everyone looked at them. "Lyka Isabelle kept on rejecting me! Am I not lovable?"

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya sa narinig mula sa binata. Then she could hear whispers and nasty looks from people around them.

"Akalain mo iyon inaayawan pa si Mr. Santos?"

"Oo nga eh. Akala mo kung sinong kagandahan."

"Si Mr. Santos na nga ang naghahabol, ano pa ba ang hanap nito?"

Ilan lamang ang mga iyon sa mga narinig niya mula mga nakapaligid nila. Ano ba ang gustong mangyari ng lalaking ito?

"Now what, Ms. Gusmani?" nakangiting tanong nito sa kanya at hindi pa rin binibitawan ang braso niya.

"Sa tingin mo nakakatuwa ka? No!" Pigil ang kinikimkim niyang inis at galit dito.

"I am not?" nakakalokong tanong nito sa kanya. Then he looked at everyone. "Hindi raw ako nakakatuwa?" tanong niya sa mga ito at nagsimula na namang magbulong-bulungan ang mga ito na parang bubuyog. "Will you be my girlfriend?" muli nitong tanong nito sa kanya na ngayon ay nakatayo na sa harapan niya.

Everyone cheered for his boss na ngayon ay todo ang ngiti nito sa kanya at sayang-saya pa sa pangangantiyaw ng mga nasa paligid nila. He even motioned them to make their response louder.

"Mag-yes ka na swerte mo!"

"Ano ba ‘yan pakipot pa?!"

"Oo na ‘yan! Oo na ‘yan!"

"Hay nakakainggit naman!"

Everyone has their own opinion but she doesn't like it. She never wanted this kind of attention from anyone especially from everyone in the room. It's suffocating her. Nakakarindi!

"Fine! I'll give it a try!" she said feeling defeated.
