It’s been two months since Mia had me arrested for stalking her. Thankfully, she never did press charges as she said she would. I think partly because I left town for a couple weeks after the incident, and I’d like to believe feeling sympathetic towards me played into her reasoning, but only she knows. I still stop into the tavern once a week to have a drink. I don’t bother Mia, and I only speak to the bartender, but I am hopeful that one day Mia will have a change of heart and let me see Mackenzie again. Mia seems happy, which is good to see.
