Amon's POV
Peach's reaction to Asher's scandal leaves me cold. The way she rushes to defend him, to console him, makes me wonder if she loves him more than Cody and me. I can't believe my brother could be so stupid as to get involved with Emily, but I have to confront her. I can't let Peach get closer to Asher out of pity.
Standing in front of Emily's house, I’m hit with memories of the last time I was here. I had vowed never to return, yet here I am, because of the person that made me swear off ever coming back.
The butler lets me in, and almost immediately, I run into her father. His eyes light up with a fleeting happiness at seeing me, but the sadness beneath is palpable. "Amon," he says, extending a hand. "I'm glad you're here. It's been... difficult."
