As I walked through the hallway , I felt a sense of relief. Telling him everything I knew about Mr. Zaheer felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I was confident that Asher would take action and Mr. Zaheer would be fired. But there was also a lingering unease within me. Asher’s mood had shifted abruptly when I brought up our past intimacy. Maybe it was the wrong time to mention it, or maybe there was something more to his reaction. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.
