The astonishment on her face as she sees me is priceless, and I relish every second of it. “What are you doing here?” she stammers, clearly taken aback.
“Well, isn’t that your fancy way of inviting me in?” I retort with a mischievous grin, enjoying her confusion.
“Um, I guess so. Come in,” she replies, still bewildered. “You can sit over there,” she gestures towards the sofa, and I comply, taking a seat.
“You went from being baffled about my presence to offering me a place to sit,” I tease, unable to resist.
“You still haven’t answered my question. Why are you here?” she presses, her curiosity evident.
