Chapter 72

956 Words

Cody's POV The confrontation with Emily was supposed to be simple. Just a way to get her off our backs. But it backfired. My dad’s plan was more intricate than I could handle, and now everything is teetering on the edge of collapse. When I walked into the police station, the officers greeted me warmly, recognizing me as the commissioner’s nephew—a privilege that granted me certain advantages. An officer approached, his expression respectful. “Cody, what brings you here?” “I need to see Mr. Zaheer,” I replied, my voice steady but filled with urgency. He nodded, signaling to another officer. “Get Mr. Zaheer. And find a private room.” Moments later, I was sitting across from Mr. Zaheer in a small, dimly lit room. His hands were cuffed, and his face was a mix of confusion and frustration.
