"Symone? Did you hear me?" Darien's voice was a faint sound in my ears. But it was ringing in my head like a bell. Lana is pregnant.
I said nothing. I just kept replaying those words in my mind until they registered. I put my face in my hands and let the tears fall. I could hear Darien's apologetic voice.
"I'm really sorry. Lana told us the other day. I didn't believe her, but the pack doctor confirmed it. I don't know. I still think it's bullshit. I think she threatened Dr. Milaras.
