CHAPTER 24 Jennifer hadn’t seen Mr. Green in a while. It had been a full two years since she was a student in his science class. He seemed different now. But maybe that was because she was looking at him through the tears she was desperately trying to blink away. “So,” Mr. Green said as he put his car into gear. “I’m not going to ask what you were doing, but if you wanted someone to talk to about it, I’m all ears.” He had a sign for some old band dangling from his rearview mirror.
