Chapter Thirty five

[Ambriose]

I told him ..I never wanted to . But his voice makes me scared . He was big . Really harsh looking . But somewhere in my mind I felt as if he cared . His words were rough as he made me speak . But he cared . No stranger ever did . Not even my friend Betty didn't . She had seen the red stain on my cheek many times since the start of my class . But she never cared to ask why . But he did . And I told him . Not that he will anything about it . No that he can .

But he asked . That was what made me melt .

"They hurt you " He said rubbing his thumb over my cheek . "Not much " I whispered. "NOT much !? Ambriose this is fucken abuse !" He yelled and I flinch at his cursed words . "Zanthus " I whispered but he pulled away and ran his hand through his hair pacing . "Zanthus " I called and he look at me with an irritated look . I frown . "It fine . My uncle takes care of me " I said extending my arms . He sighs wrapping his hand around my waist and letting me down . But I gasp as my chest pushed to his .Flutters started in my body .

"So you live with your relatives? " I nodded and he took my hand walking to the door of the car . Suddenly my cell phone started ringing and I stop . It was Kaden . My phone was snatched by Zanthus as he looked at the caller . "Who is this ?" He asked . I bite my lip at his question . He was angry . I gently reached up . "Its my cousin brother " I said and he let me have the phone .

"Where are you Ambriose ?"

"Just , away from home " I said .

"Well they are gone now . Tell me where you are I can pick you up "

"No need . I ..I have someone dropping me " I said . He asked me who it was and I replied with a friend.

Zanthus had heard me talking . He pulled away and drove me back to my house . "Do they visit often like this ? To get you " He asked with his hand gripping the wheel tight . " yes " I reply . He cursed again . "I have go . Thank you for what you did " I said . "No problem baby rose " My stomach just flipped .

I walk out the car with heated cheeks and jumbled sparks in my stomach . I glanced at him once before walking in .

The three of the were sitting on the couch in the living room .

" oh god . We got worried " She said and I let it out . My sobs didn't stop . I was eighteen now . I was an adult . I wasn't under their care of them . My parents and him could take me anywhere . No one would know . They could kidnap me . Hurt me . And force me to given in

"Its alright . We will do everything to protect you okay " I nodded hugging Kaden . It was Kaden's warmness which I had grown to since my childhood . I would stay over their house because my parents were scary . Kanden and I had a bond  which none of my other cousins shared . He was the closed brother I had .

"Who dropped you home ? " he asked . "Zanthus . He , he is a friend . He is a senior " I said and he nodded texting on his cell . "What happened ..when they were here ?" I asked sitting up from my bed . "The usual. Asking for you . Trying to get something " I sigh walking to him and grabbing his hand . "Will they ever give up ?" I asked and he sighs .

"No . So we can't give up either "

What was I thinking ? Why would I let him know ? Why would I feel such unstoppable feelings emotionally and physically when I thought of him . The moment I woke up this morning I remember how he had touched me yesterday. I was too much caught up in my issues about my parents that his hands which touched my waist and cheeks only relaxed me . But only now I was blushing and nervously twisting my sleeves in my fingers thinking about how he had picked me up so easily and trapped my body between his arms .

I would definitely be a red fire ball as soon as I see him . Why was I feeling so nervous and scared to see him . Was it because he knows about my family or was it because I was to attached to his touch ? . I shook my head grabbing my bag and walking to the door . Kaden dropped me to my college and I sigh pouting my lips walking alone to my locker . As soon as I saw Zanthus my heart started beating fast . I bite my lip taking in a deep breath and walking slowly to him . "Morning My little red " he whispered tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear . I gulp looking into his eyes . Big mistake. His eyes were so dark and they had affected me so much that my knees went weak . His look towards me had me gaze into his eyes forever . I look to the ground and he leaned on the locker beside mine . "Everything okay ?" He asked and I nodded . "I asked you a question Ambriose " He stated and I suddenly feel scared . Or maybe too nervous.

"I-Its fine . U-Uncle said t-that he will talk to our lawyer about the issue " I stutter more than I ever do . Not that I stutter at all . But Zanthus makes me . "What are they aiming for here ?" He asked taking my hand I immediately pull it away out of reflex . Or maybe I got too much shocked . My hands started sweating and I could feel the hotness on them . God why was he affecting me this much ?

I looked up to see his dangerous gaze . He grabbed my hand forcefully and leaned in . I had held my breath by then . "Don't pull away your hand from me . Ever . The more you pull away the more tight I will hold you close to me .Get that Flower?" He asked

I nodded whimpering inside .Flower  He called me flower . That name was so cheesy , yet it sounded so hot when it left his mouth . And to think that he gave me that name made me clench my thighs together  . He nodded and walked with me . "Now answer my question "

"Huh ?" I asked . "What do they want from you Flower , why you ?" He asked . I sigh .

It was lunch , I was sitting way to close to Zanthus . His arm behind my head resting on the head of the chair . His hand resting on the table . Even if he hadn't wrapped his arms around me I felt like he was hugging me . His warmness was touching me . I had promised him to tell everything in lunch . And here I was . "Its my grandma's brother Nolan who started it . " I said . " After building a house right next to ours he wanted possession over our house and the land too . My grandfather wasn't in the state to argue about it . He was too weak . My parents were forced to moved away from our old house and give that Nolan . " I grit my teeth clenching my hand in fist .

Suddenly his hand was on mine . His fingers played with my tiny ones . I bite my lip looking at him . "He told my parents that if he gets the house we were currently leaving in then he would give us another place to live . He has somethings , he has blackmailed my dad , h-he has something my dad wants . Which I don't understand. So he told my parents to move out the house . When my grandma died . Her brother was quick to take hold of all the papers and the land she owned . When the truth came out he went crazy . She had named her house and that land in my name . Until I got eighteen my uncle would take care of it . Now that I am eighteen and legally the owner of that land he and my dad wants it . I don't wanna do that . I know they will make my uncle's life worst if I gave them that . "

"How ?" He asked . My heart and stomach suddenly flipped as he ran his finger on my cheek wiping away the tear on my skin which had fallen from my eye  . "Its pretty complicated. I don't know much but what I heard my aunt speak to my uncle was that the land I own is divided into two . Half on my name half on his . Something like that . If I give up that then Grandma's brother can easily use Uncle and hurt him . I hate my family . I hate them . Its only Kaden's parents who have kept me safe as their own daughter. I don't know what Nolan will do if I still refuse to agree to my dad's wishes "

"Fucken greedy men " he grits . I laughed softly . "I sometimes curse at them while going to sleep " He didn't laugh . "Makes my sleep comfortable " Zanthus sighs looking away . "You have to be care-full flower . I don't want your going alone anywhere " He said . I chuckled blushing . "Not like they can kill me . They are cowards . I am eighteen now . I can probably sue them " he smiled kissing my cheek and I froze . He kissed me . Oh my lord he kissed me .

Things like these I fear the most . What if I like him so much that if he leaves I will be miserable. Just like mumma . Who went with dad . Because she didn't wanna live running away from them and take care of me . I look down to my fingers laced with his . I didn't dare took them away . I loved the feeling of his hand coiled around mine .

"Are you picking me up? " I asked leaning my head on the locker .

"Ya I can "

I nodded . "I am dropping you off " I jump at Zanthus's voice ."you are ?"i asked . "Yes i am flower",I look at the doors of the hallway "Uh ..never-mind . My friend is dropping me "I stated and heard and hum from Kaden . " Okay cool cause I will be out with dad ,mom isn't home I hope you have the key to the house " He said and I frown . " Wait , where did Poppy go ?" Zanthus raised his eyebrow at me . " Shopping " He replied I huff and hang up saying goodbye . "Who is poppy ?" Zanthus asked and I smile . " My aunt likes it when I call her poppy . So i call her that often " I answer and he chuckled . He took my hand walking us to the car and helping me get in . As we stopped in front of my house I fish my keys out my bag . Untill then Zanthus was at my side opening my door .

" Thank you " He nodded .  He leaned on his car watching me walk to the door . I was sad that I had to go in . I was alone in the house because once Aunty goes for shopping it takes her hours to come home , I turned around and did the unthinkable . " Do-Do you want to come in ?" I asked and he grinned . " Sure thing Flower " He said and walked to me making my legs weak . " Where is everyone ?" He asked walking in and closing the door. " Out doing stuff" I said and noticed the glass bowl and some pasta in it . "are you hungry ?" I asked and I gasp loudly as his hand wraps around my waist . Sparks , That's all I feel . 

My hands fist on the counter and my teeth bites my lower lip . Oh how strong the effect of his hands on me were . "Zanthus " I whispered . "W-What .." I was turned around to meet his eyes . "Maybe I can eat you one day " He whispered .
