Chapter 2: The Master of the House Nolan’s bills were being paid by the tenants. The mortgage. His cell phone bill. The Fios bill. The electric bill. The garbage bill. He even had some money left over at the end of the month. He thought about getting a part-time job, but he really didn’t know what type of job he wanted. Once, he had worked for an office supplies company, taking orders over the phone. The pay was good, but the hours were lousy. A full benefits package was offered, which meant he didn’t have to pay for his medical insurance, unlike now. He thought about calling Patterson Office Supplies to work part-time, but he really didn’t want to work. Instead, he wanted to stay at home, analyze his tenants, read a few good novels, and relax.
