Alphonse had lived however life tossed him. He grew up as an orphan in the Moonblood pack. Apparently, his parents were strong and important members of the pack and the previous Alpha before Jason took him in and trained him to grow as his gamma. Unfortunately, Jason took over and became the next Alpha of the moonblood pack so that never happened. However, seeing his potential, Jason made him one of his gammas alongside Terry and Igor.
Thereafter, Alphonse had pretty much no other identity other than being Jason's gamma until recently, when he couldn't stand Jason's outrageous actions anymore. However, even that was as a result of Sam's instigation.
