Chapter 30: Rats in sewers

I fell to the ground with a jolt of lightning following my landing. I wheeled my glance around and saw myself already surrounded by a group of knights. Their sword was already drawn, pointing toward my head.
I immediately switched to combat mode. When the knights stepped back and made way for one knight, he was a knight wearing emerald-colored armor. A pointy helmet and a giant spear in his hand.
“Just like the princess said, you’re someone we need to watch closely… According to the report, the Golden knight and the Mountain smasher knight were killed by a magical lightning user. It was a shame. They are both men with integrity and focus. A strength I look forward to in the future. Now that they are dead, I seek payback… I, Spearhead, commander of the 2nd knight squad of Arsland kingdom, will personally take you down… Evil Incarnate.”
He took his time talking for so long. I took the opportunity to attack. Dashing forward, I curled my fist with lightning and punched his stomach.
“Lightning punch!”
The strength of my magic was enough to destroy the armor. Revealing the man inside of the shiny armor. He was stunned and looked directly into my eyes. Before he made his comeback. I spin my body, creating a blade of lighting attached to my right foot. Same time as my first spin. The lightning blade cut Spearhead’s body in half.
Blood was sprayed on the ground. The Spear knight, who was supposed to be the 2nd commander, was defeated in an instant. The knights around me were in a state of disbelief for a moment. The moment they snapped out. They charged forward, attacking me with sword skills.
Only one thing was on my mind.
I have to save my friends.
“Lightning discharge!”
Around 10 meters in radius, electricity was discharged through the air. Successfully electrocuting the knights in my range. The other knight stepped back and used long-range attack magic to avoid being caught up with my magic.
“Fireball!”
“Water spear!”
I kicked to the ground and launched myself up high in the sky to avoid the magical attack.
There are too many of them. The Wizard class knight was around 20 and the knight’s still standing was around 40. The most troublesome, the knight commander, is already dead. I am glad that he let his guard down and didn’t think that I could attack him swiftly.
The wizard knights pointed the tip of their swords to the sky, launching another wave of magical attacks.

“Lightning heavenly spear!”
Like the lightning god, I threw a lightning spear down to the knights standing on the ground. In my current position, I’m able to see them all. Sounds of destruction were heard over and over again. At every bolt of lightning striking the ground, screams and agony can be heard.
Hurting them is not my intention, but they are the first to bring this battle. It's natural for me to fight back.
I’m not on the wrong side. In this cruel world, fighting to protect yourself is just natural.
The battle between me and the knights didn’t last long. I spam them all with light spears. All of them fell down lying on the ground. I turned my glance to one particular knight whose body was completely burned down by my lighting. His expression was screaming. On the other hand, other knights have their body parts scattered on the ground.
I averted my eyes away. Ignoring the knights and going to my original goal of saving my friends.
The lightning speed effect wore off.
I run around tracing Cake’s magical presence. I ran into the dark alley and found nothing. I was sure that the magical presence was just around there. I continue searching around the country. In the end, I found myself in the same spot where I searched before.
I tilted my head in confusion and had a deep thought about it.
“Where could they be? The location is here… My magical detection radar is never wrong.”
Behind me, I heard metallic sounds. I immediately turned my head and saw the metallic cover of the man's hole moving.
Judging by the magical presence. I think she is not much of a threat. Still, I can’t underestimate my opponent. It's the number one rule on the battlefield.
The cover was lifted and a little girl ascended.
I know this girl.
“You’re the girl who took the candy earlier.”
“Fluffy is down here.”
“Fluffy?”
“Down in the hideout.”
She descended back down to the manhole.
I felt no danger from the little girl. I followed her and went down. A long ladder led the two of us to the huge sewers. The little girl took an item card. Activating it, it turned into a lamp. The dark sewers were brought to light.
A little walking, we reached a path leading to an underground facility.
“What is this place?”
“The hideout... Hideout from the rats.”
The one who answered my question was a new face. She got a lollipop in her mouth. Based on her height and appearance. She is a woman in her early twenties.
“... I saw your fight earlier… You’re quite amazing… By the way, my name is Chelsea. How about you?”
She offered a handshake.
“I’m Hanayuki.”
I took her hand and shake.
“ I'm still in elementary school but you’re very strong… I envy you.”
“I’m not in elementary.”
“Really… But your physical body is telling me…”
She turned her glance at my bosom for a while.
“I may not look like it, but I’m a teenager… Please don’t look at my chest. It's making me uncomfortable.”

“We thought you were killed by that evil princess.”
“Yeah, I’m still alive… I’m surprised myself… By the way, what happened when I lost consciousness?”
I asked as I turned my head to Cake.
“When you’re defeated by Noah… Eula made her move. She used the same towering earth magic to launch us together outside of the country… But for Eula, I don’t know what happened to her.”
“Don’t worry, she is fine… There is no way Eula will die. She is a strong girl after all. Why did Princess Noah suddenly move to kill her sister?”
I asked.
“I think it's about the power struggle in Arkland. Arsland is the evilest kingdom according to other kingdoms. Draculon might be called the demon continent, but this land is more at peace compared to Arsland… The king is sick. The heir he wanted is the strongest on the Princess' trail.”
Chelsea replied.
“She will kill the other princess to become the next ruler. Instead of hassling herself into completing hundreds of dangerous quests. Killing her sisters might be the easiest way to gain the throne. That’s the simplest explanation.”
Cake added.
“I have trust in Eula… Eula is still alive. She is unlike the other princesses. She is kind and her goal is to make Arsland a better place. If there is someone who needs to become the next ruler, it's definitely her.”
“You’re so optimistic and bright. From your smile, I can’t tell what wrong might happen.”
Cake murmured and turned away.

“The leader wanted to talk to you, Little missy… Follow me.”
Chelsea whispered in my ear.
These people helped out Cake and her sibling. I guess trusting them is fine.
I followed Chelsea toward the room where the said leader was waiting for me.

“The knight that tortured hundreds of men. The great torturer, Isidro… And, on the other hand, the newbie that… Umm… No records but brave enough to face death. The mysterious masked pajama ranger…”
His energetic tone turned into a low tone when he said Masked Pajama Ranger.
“This is not a joke, right? Are you fine in a deathmatch?”
The judge walked to me asking.
“I’m ready… Don’t worry about the little details.”
It's not my choice to wear this Dog Pajama Hood costume. The only thing I’m glad about was that half of my face is covered by a mask.
It would be embarrassing if my face was exposed.
In a weird turn of events… Now, I have to battle this knight in a deathmatch.
