Chapter 34: Straight forward

Stars and a big full moon were shining brightly in the sky. Illuminating the giant city below. City lights and the noise of the nighttime market made the city livelier.

I was standing up high in the tall walls surrounding the city of Everfloria. Right now, all I can do is wait for the arrival of my prey before they land in this city.

The mysterious girl gives information about the next action princess Noah will take. And this wonderful city is next on her list.

Before it's too late, I have to save these people from this evil princess. I’ll do anything so that these people won’t meet the same tragic fate I saw in my two eyes before.

“I can feel the Ark nearing already… I have to set up a strong barrier.”

I put my hands together and took out a book from an inventory card. It was a magic book about barriers. I read the long chant written in the book and it is called the magic word.

“Night barrier!”

The night barrier is a commonly used magic barrier that separates an area using a black force field that is imperceivable to outside observers. They are mainly utilized by magic users to maintain secrecy while fighting.

By separating the whole Everfloria into the scene. I could go all out and not put anyone in danger.

The only way to destroy the barrier is by defeating the caster or the caster canceling the magic.

I holt one spear and enhance my strength with magic. Aiming toward the ship and putting all my strength, throwing the spear. The spear was launched at incredible speed.

The iron spear was enhanced by lightning magic. The spear striking the ship is with the same power as nature’s lightning strike.

*Boom!*

The sound ranges from a sharp, loud c***k to a long, low rumble.

I hit the side… But the ship's altitude wasn’t going down.

I took another iron spear and threw them immediately, not giving them time to rest.

I’m still far from the giant ship's current location. A normal magic attack will take time for it to come close to me. Dodging the coming attack will be easy.

The second lightning spear was destroyed by an unknown force.

I stared directly at the ship… A woman with long silver hair appeared.

“Princess Noah…”

I took another iron spear and threw it. The spear moved downward and struck down the mountain. Destroying the forest and creating a loud noise. Noise that wakes up animals and monsters.

I’m not sure exactly what happened… Princess Noah leaped on the giant ship and used the lightning spear as a stepping stone to make another leap toward my location.

I only got two spears. I have to do something about this…

I threw one spear upward into the sky. The last spear was then used to bolt down the ground where Princess Noah is currently running.

The mountain of Ice was then created out of thin air. Giving Noah the higher ground.

Just in a few moments, Noah stepped on the wall and turned his eyes on me.

“Evil incarnate is someone to fear just like sent stories… The evil incarnate is not the devil… The evil incarnate is the one sent to kill the devil.”

“I’m not evil incarnate… But if I need to be evil to kill you. Then I feel free to call me evil.”

The ground glows up.

“What is this? A magic circle?”

Noah was shocked to see the ground where she had been stepping.

“It's a teleportation magic circle. It will take us to an island far, far away from here. I made my preparations… I’ll make sure not to fall from your petty tricks again… I’m going to fight you just on my own… Fair and square.”

“It’s an honor… A one-on-one duel between me and you.”

Noah, understanding the situation, smiled.

The magic circle light grows bigger swallowing Princess Noah and me. When the light disappeared. We found ourselves in an old cathedral.

When I first woke up… I woke up in this cathedral. Knowing nothing and confused. But at the same time, I felt very comfortable and at ease. I don’t understand why. This cathedral is located in the far southeast. A land without living humans and land of nothingness.

Noah murmured.

“Eula ran away… I planned to kill her right away, but when I had my attention on you. She used her earth magic to escape. Her being sneaky is something she inherited from our mother…”

“Why are you trying to kill her? She is your sister, right?”

“That’s a lie… Eula is very excited when she finds out that she’s able to meet you. That cheerful face she had on that day. I can’t forget it… It's obvious that she is longing to see you.”

“That’s funny… I never think of her as anything special. She is disgusting and a loser. Eula is the kind of woman who will be fine being in second. She is a type of girl who will admire another person and never improve herself because her feeling of admiration is taking over her. She loves Yusael so much. She is like a servant. She sympathized with peasants. She is no good for being the ruler of Arsland… I’ll kill my sisters and become the ruler. Next, I’ll kill the evil aristocrats who are currently controlling the kingdom. I’ll kill them all and make another kingdom… A kingdom of peace. That’s my dream. Even if it means creating a sea of blood. I’ll fulfill my dream… And those I only choose will be able to ride the Ark. The only chosen ones are the only ones allowed to step into the new world I’m going to create.”

This woman is psychotic, but she has a goal to fulfill. She is fed up with the kingdom’s current situation.

Her way is still unforgettable. This woman is about to commit g******e.

I murmured.

The whole cathedral was in silence.

Princess Noah raised her sword and had her battle stance.

0.5 seconds had passed.

The giant pillars of the concrete floor were destroyed with each attack we made on each other. The statue of an angel was destroyed, the same going to the old altar in the center of the cathedral.

2 seconds.

We both stopped. I held the blade of her sword and her left hand grasped my left arm. I have a tight grip on her sword, not letting her go. She strengthened her grip on my arm and forced me to lift my body. Brandished, she slammed my body down to the ground at full strength. Resulting in a small crater. The whole cathedral rumbles.

I lost my grip…

While down on the floor, She attempted to stomp my head. I doge by rolling on my left side. She took her sword and slashed down at my neck. I immediately responded and rolled right to avoid it. I raised my lower half and used my legs to reach her head. From that position, she threw her body away toward the huge pillar. Noah reacted fast and sliced the pillar and made a proper landing.

The pillar was destroyed and fell to the ground. The shock wave was felt and a cloud of dust had accumulated inside.

She’s fast…

But I wonder if she can still catch up with this…

“Lightning speed: Over the limit!”

I lunched myself straight forward to Noah.

Noah remained calm and said:

“Can you still move here?”

“...”

….…..

*Crash!* *Doom!* My body suddenly blasted away from the stone pillar.

What on earth happened?

Is it speed? No, I didn’t feel her presence at all coming near.

“Yusael is the only one who could move in that space… Like I said before, there is no way you’ll defeat me.”
