Chapter 49: Darkened mind

I was waiting for him… I’m always waiting for him. He is my beacon of hope in dark times. I won’t give my heart to anyone but him. I’ll behave myself and wait for him. In the same window facing the entrance gate. I’m sure he will visit me and take my hand as he promised.
Two years have passed since Rin left with a promise to return. He would return to take my hands away from the mansion. Seasons had changed. The war was already over. The human empire won against the dark lord's army. The threat of the dark lord was gone and a new era had begun.
I was sitting in my usual seat beside the window, enjoying my book and a cup of tea. After I took one sip, I turned my head and looked out the window, looking at the garden ahead at the entrance gate.
I was waiting for his return.
I don't know what is taking him so long. Two months had passed when the dark lot was defeated. Rin was supposed to come back there as he promised.
Just having the thought of him already finding another girl to love sure creates a big hole in my heart. On the other hand, I wouldn't believe Rin is the type of person who would betray me.
Not to brag, but I'm a very attractive individual.
I should have faith in him.
"Is that right? Elaina?"
I said and looked at my stuffed toy doll.
*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*
"Who was it?"
"My lady, the prince has come to visit."
This is unnatural, Flore, ever since Rin left, she has become my maid. She's the one always knocking on my door.
"Please tell him that I'm not feeling well... he can visit him another time."
I replied.
"..."
The maid was silent for a brief moment.
"... I'm sorry my lady, but please meet the prince or else Flore will be in danger."
What? Something is off... Flore is in danger.
I immediately went to the door and asked the maid some questions. The maid told me everything and the prince was behind everything. My father and mother weren't at home. The prince uses his authority to do what he pleases.
That dirty pig finally made his move. I know he's a scumbag, but this is the worst. He is using Flore as a hostage to get me out of the mansion.
Flore is my friend and someone who always stays at my side. I can't just abandon her for my own sake.
I'm still in my pajamas. I turned the door, numb hastily. Gazing toward the maid's face. I was horrified.
The maid at my door has a bruise on her face. Her eyes were on the verge of crying.
"Flore was a kind girl... Please save her, my lady."
The maid said, finally cracking into tears.
I steeled myself and decided not to turn my back. I sense that there are plenty of royal knights around the house. There was no way I could escape.
I even hated seeing the prince's face. I have to meet him and rescue Flore.
I rushed down the spiral staircase and met up with the prince who was waiting in the living room. Standing with a sword in his hand, he slashed the sofa with one strike.
"Some look at me with those eyes, my future wife. This sofa is simply too cheap for me. I can't get myself to get a seat on it."
"Where did you take Flore?"
"You're straightforward... How about we have some talk or dance first?"
"Don't play around. Tell me where Flore is!"
"That angry face... you're still pretty. Don't worry, she is fine. That girl needs to be punished. She hides you from me. She tells made-up lies just to keep the two of us apart from each other. Being unable to see the one you love is hurting, right?"
The prince said.
I know that feeling, but I'm not feeling that kind of emotion, towards you.
The prince walked around me and took my hair sniffing. I still had trauma from him. My body started to quiver in fear.
"Let's go straight to bed already. I missed you so much. I can't contain myself anymore. We are going to get married anyway. Let's have fun."
"I can't... I cant... I have someone I loved and that man wasn't you."
I said the words I wanted to tell him. I was scared but I told him.
He looked at me closely with a very ugly-looking face. His eyes were in bloodlust. Veins started appearing together and his head turned red, similar to a demon.
Frightened, I stepped back. Recognizing my attempt to flee, he grasped my arms tightly.
It hurts.
"Rin, that was his name, right?"
"How did you know?"
"Do you think I was stupid? You can't fool me. I'm the prince. I have power and wealth on my side. Why choose that man over me? I'm the prince you're supposed to be heels over in love with me."
His expression... It's bitter. I feel like vomiting. He continues to boast about himself, telling me that he is better than Rin.
The prince took a plate from his pocket and tossed it on the ground.
The plate has its name engraved on it.
"... Rin..."
Shadows grow beneath my eyes.
"He is no longer in this world... That knight is no longer in this world. No one will interfere with our love for each other."
What is he talking about? What love? Loving this disgusting man is the same as throwing away my humanity.
Rin is no longer in this world...

I down my gaze in despair.
There is no way Rin is dead. There is no way this reality is true. I'm just in a nightmare. This is just a long nightmare.
Other knights arrived with Flore in their hands. Flore's clothes are torn apart and a man was pushing something from her butt. The knight kneads Flore's breast afterward, forcing her to kiss him. After one knight, two knights took off their armor and clothes. The knight violates her body further while wearing satisfied expressions on his face.
"My lady... Please don't look... Please, don't look..."
The whole room was covered by their indecent sound.
Disgusting... These people aren't human. They are simply animals in human skin.
"That's her punishment... Watching her moan... I got excited. Belle, let's do it here and now."
The prince took off his clothes. His face was disgustingly flustered.
Flore was the only victim. Plenty of maids is sexually harassed by Flore. The male servants and knights in the house are all killed.
The prince drooled and leaped toward me. Before he fell to my body, I raised my hand.

I cut down the other knight's head in an instant.
One swing of my hand can make them disappear. This is the first time I have killed someone, but I don't feel anything about that. Yes, I know... It's because they are not humans.

I cast magic one after another. Killing knights one by one. A scream of horror was heard. Some knights decided to run away but they could. I immediately created a barrier sealing them all here in the manor.
The satisfied faces are replaced with terror.

"Do you think that when Flore begs for mercy?"
I cut him little by little. I end up dicing him.
Lastly, I turned toward the prince.
"I'm the prince.. you can't do this to me. You're supposed to pleasure me... you're just a woman."
The scumbag prince said.
"This is for everyone... Your death won't be easy."
I muttered with a sinister tone. I raised my hand, chopping down.

I end up burning all the corpses to ashes. The mansion was separated miles away from the main town and because of the barrier, no one knows what happened. The sexually harassed girls end up with depression.
I must save them...
I struck a knife at Flore's head, ending her despair.
I did the same to others.
When my parents got home, I waited for them patiently. My parents are the root of everything. They are the ones who put me in this situation. Without them, my life was supposed to be better. My mother and father were burned in flames. They will go straight to hell. Being used to the sensation of flames will help them out in hell.
Two days have passed... I end up with the cleaning and disposal of dead bodies.
Now that the mansion was clean.
I bought my tea and went back to my room. With a book in my hand. Tea and snacks are on the table.
I continuously waited for the man I loved the most.
