Chapter Four- The Blue Moon Pack

1715 Words
Goodbyes were always hard and filled with such sorrow. My parents, my sister, my friends, were all being leftbehind. I had kept my goodbyes short before I had a chance to break into tears. I had to leave with Alpha Damen. He was my mate and I was going to become the Luna of the Blue Moon Pack. I could hardly grasp that reality. Usually, an alpha's mate was the daughter of an alpha or beta. I had dreamed of becoming the next Gamma, but I couldn't fathom being a Luna. I was deeply lost in my rampage of thoughts, gazing aimlessly out of the limo window. Alpha Damen asked a few times if I was alright, but remained silent other than that. A couple of times he had stroked my leg to comfort me and it worked. My skin felt warm beneath his touch. Finally, we had arrived at their pack house. The Blue Moon Pack was settled at the base of the mountains. The pack house was a glorious white mansion, though not much larger than the Full Moon Pack's. There were a few werewolves standing outside the pack house waiting for the limo. I noticed so many eyes glaring at me as I stepped outside. Alpha Damen had his fingers laced with mine as we walked outside into the cooler, mountain air. I heard a mix of excited, but also bitter whispers all around me. "Who is this?" A gruff male voice spoke up. The young man stepped forward with a single brow raised curiously. Through his half grin I suspected he already knew, but he wanted Alpha Damen to say it. The strange man had platinum blonde hair, and light blue eyes. "My mate, Alina Gray," he said confirming the small crowd's suspicion. The strange man's smirk turned into a full smile. "About time," his voice boomed cheerfully as he wrapped his arm over the alpha's shoulders. It was obvious they were friends. "Apologies," he said suddenly pulling back and stranding up straighter. "I'm the pack's beta, Finley Thatcher, " he introduced himself. "Pleasure to meet you, Finley," I greeted him kindly. It was a struggle to keep my eyes from wandering around the crowd, attempting to read their facial expressions. While I began being introduced to some of the werewolves in the pack, a couple of omegas began to unload the car and take my things upstairs. I had overheard that my bags were being taken to Alpha Damen's room. Did that mean we would be sleeping together tonight? "Lireah," Alpha Damen barked. "Yes, alpha?" One of the pack members stepped forward. She didn't have the aura of a high ranked wolf, but I could tell from her demeanor she wasn't an omega either. She looked pretty young, but on her neck she bore a mark which meant she was mated. "Show Alina around," he said before turning to me. "I need to catch up on some things from my absence. I will join you shortly, gorgeous," he said so smoothly that I could feel my face flush. He slowly leaned in and placed a gentle kiss upon my forehead. This was a lucid dream. I had to be dreaming, and I was going to wake up to the reality that maybe it was River's mate. It would make much more sense afterall. This couldn't be happening to me, but it was. It was all very real. I nodded to him, unsure of what to say. Lireah bounced up to me so full of cheerful energy. It reminded me of Alana, except she was even more giddy if that was possible. "Come on, follow me!" She said. "I'm so excited that we will finally have a Luna," she giggled as she turned towards the pack house. Lireah led me inside. My green eyes watching over my shoulder as Alpha Damen was talking with the rest of the werewolves in the crowd that had greeted us. Inside the pack house it was even more lavish than the one at Full Moon, though the decor was more traditional and antique. Lireah led me through the kitchen and living areas on the first floor. She then brought me to the second floor where like in most packs, the beta, gamma, and their families lived. We then headed to the third floor which was for the alpha and Luna. "Alpha Damen already told the omegas to put your things in his room," she stated, opening the door to the enormous room. It was decorated in dark colors, black, maroon, and silver. My bags were already sitting beside the bed. "I can go ahead and show you around the rest if the pack grounds, not just the pack house," she kindly offered and I nodded. I didn't know how long Alpha Damen would be. I assumed all day. Lireah led me back outside through the pack gardens. We walked by the school and the pack member houses. Eventually, we made it to the training grounds which was one of my favorite places to be. There were only a few werewolves in the training field at the moment. It was apparent that formal training was over for the day. A few were working out independently as I often did. "Let me know if there's anything else you need, Luna" she told me. The word Luna felt so foreign. I didn't feel like a Luna of any pack. I felt more like an odd ball. "Thank you, but I'm not a Luna. I am Alina," I told her. "You are our Alpha's mate," she protested with a smile. I sighed at her response, unsure of what to say to that. "Is there anything you think I should know about this pack? Are you happy here?" I asked her changing the subject. I didn't know much about the Blue Moon Pack. I had asked my parents about it before I left, but they only had so much information to offer. Lireah was silent for a moment as if she was carefully contemplating her words. "I'm pretty happy here," she shrugged. "I was born here and have lived here my whole life," she added. "I just started my new job at the school and I get to take a few classes at the university in one if the nearby human towns," she was sounding like she was bragging a bit. She seemed proud of herself, but not so much that she came across as egotistical. "I'm glad I got to be one of the first ones to meet our Luna," she added happily. "I'm not a Luna yet," I repeated from only moments ago. "It was nice to meet you too, Lireah." With that, we parted ways and I made my way back to Alpha Damen's room, our room. I gulped hard wondering if he would already be there waiting for me. As I entered my new room, I noticed how empty it was, and it suddenly felt even darker. I decided to occupy my time by unpacking my things. By the time I was done it was nearly time for dinner, and that was when I heard the door open. Alpha Damen appeared through the door way with a lustful grin. I couldn't help the lust filled warmth that spread through my body. "Are you hungry, little one?" He asked, leaning in close to me. I felt my voice caught in my throat so instead I merely nodded. "I certainly am," he said in a low rumble, but I don't think he was talking about dinner. I took a step back, watching his blue-gray eyes gradually turning black. I could tell his wolf was wanting to take control and mark me now, but for some reason he was holding himself back. "But I want you to get comfortable first. The time will come," he said kindly before pulling away. "Dinner is down stairs and waiting for us." He held out his hand for me to take it, then lead me to the kitchen. Everyone was sitting down at the large table talking amongst themselves. I saw Beta Finley and who I assumed was his mate as his side. I did not see Lireah, nor did I know anyone else who was there. Alpha Damen sat at the head of the table and gestured for me to sit beside him. The omegas were quickly placing the food down on the table. Alpha Damen cleared his throat and the table grew silent immediately. Even the omegas froze in their place. Everyone watched the alpha intently. "This is your future Luna, Alina Gray from the Full Moon Pack," he introduced me. I didn't know what to say, so I simply smiled at all of them. "About time," one of them said and most of the table laughed. One of the silent ones was an unmarked female. Marking your mate is claiming them. It creates a bond between the two, a special link. It allows you to feel what each other is feeling. It also intensifies the relationship. The dinner went rather uneventful. No one spoke to me much, only a few questions about myself and the Full Moon Pack. It was rather awkward not knowing anyone, but I didn't mind. I was used to not talking to many werewolves anyway. Afterwards, we headed back to our room. We continued to get to know each other, but it was difficult to keep our hands to ourselves. Part of me felt hurt that he didn't claim me already, but another part of me was relieved. By the end of the night, we crawled into the king size bed on opposite ends. I sunk into the bed, exhausted from today's events. I curled up in the comfy sheets wearing a long t-shirt and only panties beneath. It felt rather awkward in the bed with him. I laid there tense and unmoving. Moments later, I felt one if his arms reach for me and pull me closer. My entire body was so hot I felt like I could melt. I squirmed uncomfortably for a moment, feeling his body behind me, holding onto mine. "Shhhh.... sleep my little mate," he whispered seductively in my ear and before I knew it, I was drifting off to sleep.
