Kaleb's P.O.V.

Pissed off, I had to go for a walk just to think in peace when I once again smiled at the calming mix of lavender and mint. Mate, my wolf Axel howled. “Axel hush I am just as excited as you are, however, we do not want to spook her again. Fine, but it is your fault she was spooked earlier. What no not Axel, it was all your fault. “

“Now if you would have just stayed calm I would have never even grabbed her by the wrist. Now shut up so that way I can go over there and talk to her.” “Hello, what is a beautiful lady such as yourself doing out at an unsafe park alone at night, beautiful ?”

“I am so sorry, but I do not typically talk to strangers, especially ones who grab a homeless woman or any women at that by their wrists or anywhere else for that matter.” “Homeless, what do you mean by that?'' he shouted angrily.”

“Well, I guess by your face sir you must be stupid if you do not know what it means to be homeless.” “Umm, let me think of a way to explain that you are going to make a scene for yourself.

I have no home and no family to go stay with or live with.” “So there as I am homeless, I wander around till it gets dark and then tries to find a somewhat safe place to spend the night. Then I repeat that the next day and so on.”

What does she mean that she is homeless? How and why is my mate sleeping in a park at night instead of a warm safe bed, my bed at that. This is not safe at all, and I will not stand for it one single bit. She now has no choice but to come with me now instead of waiting. Now how do I get her to agree without freaking her out too much?

Well, I guess I could ask her but what if she says no though, then what would I do? There is always the option of taking her by force. I do not want her to hate me though any more than she does now.

I still can not even fathom that she would have the guts to call me stupid or dumb. Or even insinuate that at all about me. Alpha for the love of God. Yup, my mate is doing to be a feisty one, that is for damn sure. She does seem to already have a bad idea about me. Ugh, why does this have to be like this.?

“Look beautiful, would you maybe please stay at my hotel with me. It has got a big comfortable bed and I promise that I can and will make it worth your time and the stay. All you have to do is trust me.”

She just gave me a look that could kill me if looks could kill. “Trust you ha your funny, why would I trust a random strange man who grabbed me by the wrist today and then somehow even though I am homeless still found a way to stalk out where I was, so to your question no I will not be trusting you. Not here in this lifetime or the next or even the one after that."

Great, now she probably thinks that I am trying to pay her to sleep with me. Which I most definitely in no way or form at all would I, do not get me wrong she was beyond beautiful.

The most breathtaking woman I have ever seen, but the man of course I would never degrade my mate or let alone any female like that, it just is not right to do crap like that to a woman. Honestly, it is rising me off that she is probably even thinking that is what I had meant. “Axel, I messed up big time with this one, had I not?” “By the look on her face Kaleb yeah I think you did.”

“Look, I promise you that I didn't mean it in any way shape, or form as sleeping with you. I could have any female that I want, you are not even my type. I prefer my woman to be non-homeless, and I promise you that.” It crushed my heart even saying that to her.

It secretly looked like it broke her a bit too, even if she did not know it at all. Look, it is just that it is not safe for a young lady like you to be out here at night. Especially with everything that has been happening here lately. I just want to make sure that you're safe.

“I promise you that nothing bad would ever come to you if you followed me to my room right now. I just want to help keep you safe. That's all I'm worried about. I swear on everything important to you.”

“Just trust me please, I swear if she does not listen to me, I'm just going to throw her over my shoulder and take her back to my hotel. I am not about to stay here and just beg her like this, axel. Likewise, I am the alpha here, not the other way around.”

“Look Kaleb, you do what you think you need to just make sure that she does not decide to reject us with how you were just treating her and what you were saying to her. If she and her wolf reject us, we could end up dying. We are alpha, so we may not. If we do not Kaleb, we will surely start to slowly go crazy till we want to end up dying.”

“f**k Axel, I know. I just do not know what else to do at this point. I can not even think of possibly losing her. Likewise, I have been waiting since the day I turned eighteen. Furthermore, I am not about to lose this already.”
