Chapter 3

They had made it back to Leo’s house. Their luck seemed to be with them, as Leo’s parents hadn’t left yet. It was the perfect opportunity to talk with them and find out any information they may have access to due to their rank. Leo suggested Abby run up to her room and relax while he discusses things with his parents. Appreciative of the opportunity, Abby departed. This time around, Leo held no concern about speaking with his parents. They had gained a great deal of knowledge. If anything, they would be pleased. Making it to the door of their office, he heard them hard at work on something. He gave the old, thick, wooden door a hard knock. Leo’s mother gave the response for him to enter. Upon his entrance, he observed his parents busy at work with something. Most likely pulling reports before their departure. Taking a deep breath, he addressed his parents. ------ Abby was thoroughly enjoying her book while waiting to hear from Leo. Her eyes had devoured a few chapters before Leo interrupted her deep concentration. Her eyes barely glanced up at him as he let himself in and took a seat on her bed. Quickly flopping back with a thud. His back now laid on her bed as he stared up at the ceiling. “Hows…” He didn’t get the chance to finish before Abby hushed him. He glanced up at her and couldn’t help the smile that encompassed his face. Abby was such a book nerd. The difference between her and most women was she would remove her intestines if you interrupted her before she was ready. Waiting patiently, Leo allowed his mind to take him elsewhere. Time had passed, neither of them knew how long. They were used to this arrangement. Leo lay there, sometimes falling asleep, as Abby read her book. She suddenly slammed her book shut and gave a dramatic sigh. “That bad?” Leo laughed. “YES!” She yelled. “It’s such a good book, but how is this girl so oblivious?” “Well, tell me about the book. It looks different from the last one you were reading.” Leo pointed out. His eyes inspected Abby’s for give aways. “This guy is a huge jerk to this girl. Life happens and they end up having to work together on a school project. The girl is so damn defensive she can’t see how the guy feels for her and she is letting him fall through the cracks!” Her body was animated as she explained the story line. “You, as the reader, can see both sides of the point of view. You have to remember; they don’t know all the information you know.” Leo giggled, but thought about the irony of it all. “SO!” She dramatically flailed herself so she was now lying on her bed next to Leo. “I wish I had someone that loved me like that.” Leo froze. Fear consuming his every fiber. Maybe if he didn’t move, she wouldn’t notice his sudden silence. Abby flipped over onto her stomach so her eyes were staring right into Leo’s. His mind was screaming in alarm, but he desperately wanted to feel her lips. They had always been tempting him, begging him for just one touch, one taste. Unable to break away from her gaze, his eyes continued to scan hers. “Why are you so quiet Leo?” Her voice was full of concern. Abby’s own mind had gone wild. Laying like this, she was given a few of Leo she had never noticed before. His eyes were beautiful. His brooding brows perfectly accented his eyes. His blond hair was longer. It was unkept, but in a way that was just much more attractive. Her mind raced with thoughts as she had never taken the time to look at him like this. His tattoo along of the side of his neck snaked down his back. She had seen it many times before, but now she had the dire urge to run her fingers along it to wherever it led. Moving her fingers forward, they gently met his warm skin. It was soft against her skin. Inviting and asking to continue to be touched. At her touch, Leo closed his eyes. Sliding her hands down his body, she pulled his shirt over his head. It looked like he was going to protest on several occasions, but all he was able to manage was a question. “What are you doing Abby?” His voice was uneven. Unable to give him an answer, her fingers made their way back to his tattoo once his shirt was removed. Following the tattoo, she followed it from his neck, down to his back, and as it wrapped around his stomach. His abs are perfectly sculptured underneath the tattoo. It was made up of sigils that trailed around his body. Each one has its own meaning. Moving around in front and not paying attention, her fingers moved lower and lower until Leo gently grabbed her hand. His eyes now alert as they stared at hers. “What are you doing?” He whispered. “You’re beautiful.” She whispered back. Leo let out a soft chuckle. “If you say so.” Still mesmerized by his body, she continued to memorize each and every curve. Her breathing hitched as she noticed that his pants had ridden down and had stopped right above where his…. Shaking her head violently, she looked back up at Leo. “Sorry, I don’t know what all that was about.” Leo had watched her every movement, each face she made, all of it. Her eyes screamed with curiosity. He had almost allowed her to continue down further, but couldn’t bring himself to allow her to cross that line. They had to follow the rules. It took every ounce of control to stop her, but he had done it. Feeling a small amount of pride in his self-control. Her eyes turned hungry when she looked up at him again. It took everything in him to keep his self-control. When Abby finally spoke, Leo took in a deep breath. Not realizing he had been holding his breath. “It’s okay. What were you telling me about your book?” He asked, grasping for any distractions. With that, Abby gave him a big smile and started talking about the book again, like nothing had happened.
