Abby was lost and confused. She had felt something as her and Leo kissed. It was inside of her and was taking form in the outer world. She watched Valak spring towards her. Galadin moved sideways to avoid colliding with Abby. Abby’s body moved with a sense of purpose.
She was trying to figure out what Leo was trying to tell her. She felt like there was a message he was trying to send. Something was tugging at her mind.
Valak continued to pursue her. They had now run out into the hall. The demons that had once ignored her now gave her their full attention. Grabbing her blades, she began battling each demon as it struck at her. All the while, keep an eye on Valak.
“Do not kill her, it will kill this body!” Valak yelled.
Their movements changed from deadly to attempting to box her in. She was swift with her movements. Graceful, some would say. Using her training and remembering where to strike each demon. Striking each one down with ease. Her heart beat at a calm pace. Keeping her mind clear, but still feeling something tugging at her from the back of her mind.
Most of the demons were destroyed when Kesh’s body came sailing through a window and into the hall. He landed with a crack. His body was battered, bruised, and now bleeding. There was a large glass shard sticking out from his gut. By the amount of blood leaking from his body, it was evident it had pierced a major artery.
There were things even Shadow Warriors couldn’t heal from. This was one of those.
Looking past her, Kesh pleaded with Valak. Abby continued to destroy each demon that moved towards her. Sweat glistened on her forehead as her body had heated up.
“My Lord help me!” Kesh cried out. Valak just looked at him with disdain.
Instead, he moved his attention to Abby. She had destroyed the last demon and was now staring him down. Valak could feel Leo fighting to break through again. He was getting harder to keep submerged. Leo was using what power he had at his disposal, but it wasn’t going to be enough to eject Valak without Abby.
She moved towards him; her posture was ready to move should he attempt to strike. He walked around her, preparing for her blade to swing. Her eyes analyzed his movements with each step. Neither striking. Just moving around, one another.
Valak moved forward to strike, but was overtaken by Leo. Instead of moving towards Abby, he fell off to her side. She moved away from him, preparing for it to be a hoax.
“ABBY!” Leo yelled.
The fight between him and Valak inside of his body was interrupting his concentration. He had to tell Abby what he knew.
Knowing he only had maybe a minute before Valak would have control again. “Why can’t the Soul Keeper love their match?” His words resonated with her.
She could feel that pull in the back of her mind getting stronger. When they had embraced each other, she could feel something hot and powerful.
Leo had barely gotten the words out when Valak took back over. Standing and shaking his head and stretching out his back. Quickly moving towards her.
Their fighting continued. Valak threw punches and kicked, from which Abby darted about and blocked a few of the punches with her body. She was throwing her own punches and kicks. Her agility was impressive. Considering she was fighting a greater demon, her stances were graceful. Items around them flew and broke items as they continued.
At one point in their altercation, she had to avoid falling on Kesh’s body, now void of life. His blood coating the floor, the wound now no longer leaking from where the shard was lodged. Kesh’s body is now void of any signs of life.
They moved down the hall, continuing to leave a mess in their wake. Abby watched as Valak made several attempts to use his dark magic, but was unable to do so. Screaming in frustration as he launched himself into the attack at full force. Abby tried being gentle with Leo’s body. It was proving to be a major disadvantage.
Leo was now fighting on the inside. Finding any way, he could help Abby. Frustration consumed him as he could feel her punches weren’t full force. Her kicks were the same. Lacking the power behind them, Leo knew she had.
When Valak had pulled him from the forefront of his mind, he had imprisoned him in the subconscious, but in doing so it allowed for Leo to control Valak’s use of power. He was fighting any way he could until he could get back to the surface.
Their fight moved outside as Abby sprang down from the porch. The space was too small to be able to properly defend herself. Unwilling to allow herself to be put into a bed. She knew it was what Valak was trying to do. Valak sailed over the railing and down onto the dead ground beneath his feet. Landing with absolute silence.
The moon was out it its full glory. It was a new moon. It shone brightly in the sky and lit up the earth beneath. The wind whispered gentle, but brought with it a cold chill which ran down Abby’s spine.
Kick Punch Kick Kick. Continuing with their fight. Valak landed several blows with his hands, which had now turned to claws. They sliced through her skin, but not deep enough to mortally wound. More of an inconvenience. The pain was there, but Abby’s adrenaline was pumping at full speed as she moved.
Watching with anticipation each strike, Valak set out to slow her down. Her breathing was increasing in pace as they fought faster and harder. Still concentrating on the task at hand, but also still feeling the tugging at her mind.
