Chapter 4: Scale Stone Ring

“What? You are going to help me? Why?” Jamie said confused.
“Because my sisters and I have very little choice obviously!” Pigritia said simply.
“Still doesn't answer my question!” Jamie pointed out as she crossed her arms. She felt that she was being played and she did not like it one bit.
“The details will be discussed when you get to Kyronus. The biggest question is, do you want to save your mate from a horrible and painful death or not?” Pigritia said.
“Of course!” Jamie snapped. She would do anything for Eric, anything!
Pigritia smiled and said “ Good! You need to follow my instructions very carefully, so listen up. You must go to the Crystal Mountains in the Mortal Realm, your cat Fluff knows where it is. Once there, you must find the Chaos Gate and open it when the moon is at its highest point. Once you have passed through the gate, you will be in the Chaos Realms Capital City.”
“Adenaphia, ” Vanth said.
“Yes, Adenaphia! The beating heart of the Chaos Realm. There you must go to the Ragnarök and find a member of the resistance. They will help you get into Kyronus, where you will visit my sisters and me!” Pigritia explained.
“Ok, can we unpick this for a minute, as I have several questions? Firstly, how am I going to get out of the prison Amon has put me in? If I manage that, how in chaos am I going to be able to walk around undetected? Lastly, why do I need to visit you and your sisters? Why can't I just go to Eric directly?” Jamie asked.
“Ohhhhh why do you have to ask so many questions....I really can't be bothered answering them!” Pigritia moaned.
“Then why did they send you to talk to me?” Jamie snapped.
“Because been the Demoness of Sloth, she has a natural affinity with sleep, and therefore the Dream Realm. She was the only one who could get here undetected.” Niorun explained.
“Oh!” Jamie said. “That kind of makes sense!” she thought.
“Still Pigritia, Jamie has raised some good questions!” Niorun said.
“Yes, yes! Here hold out your hand!” Pigritia commanded and Jamie did. Jamie saw an orange flash and a ring appeared in her palm. It was a large gold ring with a large blood-red stone in it. The band of the ring was a serpent, with its wide jaws holding the stone. Jamie thought it was absolutely hideous!
“Is that?” Vanth asked, her eyes wide open with shock.
“Yes, it is a Scale Stone Ring, Aunty!” Pigritia said with a smile.
“A Scale Stone Ring?” Jamie asked looking at it.
“It is said that the stone contains a scale of the Primordial Chaos Dragon that was banished to the void by your father. It is extremely powerful and allows the user to pass into the chaos realm undetected!” Vanth said.
“Amongst other things! For example, it will sort out that little magic barrier problem you have. Along with your Crone’s Eye and Aunty Vanth’s glamour magic, you should be fairly safe in the Chaos Realm!” Pigritia said as she started to yawn again.
Jamie’s eyes narrowed as she said “And what is the price of this help?”
“What, apart from making Amon deliciously cross? We will discuss the terms when you visit us!” Pigritia said with a devious glint in her eye.
Jamie was used to dealing with the Crone Goddess and was very familiar with that glint. The glint only meant one thing, and that was trouble.
“I don't know!” Jamie said softly as she turned the ring over.
“Oh, is your love not strong enough? I thought that mortal was one of your fated mates or are you just happy with Amon now?” Pigritia said shrewdly.
“Oh, you are a High Demoness after all Pigritia!” Jamie thought. Jamie knew that Demoness were crafty, but Pigriti took it to a new level! Jamie sighed and said, ” I know what you are doing! Of course, I will do as you ask as long as it helps me to rescue Eric!”
Pigritia smiled in satisfaction and said, “Looks like we have a deal, and because it was fairly easy I will throw in a little reward. My sisters will do everything in our power to make sure your Mates stay is as comfortable as possible!
Jamie bowed her head and said, “I would be most indebted to you all if that could happen!”
Jamie might be the child of two high Gods, but she was not going to let pride get in the way of helping her Mate.
“Of course you will be! But don't worry your pretty little head about that, you will pay off your debt soon! Now, I must go, this meeting has completely drained me and I need to rest!” Pigritia said closing her eyes.
Everyone thought the meeting was over, but Pigritia suddenly said sleepily, “Oh yes, before I forget you are to be met on the outskirts of Adenaphia by one of our pets. They will act as your guardian!”
“But, I have 3 guardians!” Jamie pointed out.
Pigritia scoffed as said “Guardians of Light, not chaos! Goodbye Moonchild, we shall meet soon!”
With that Pigritia’s body glowed as she disappeared. Mareritt snorted in disappointment at Pigritia‘s disappearance, she wanted to try some more of the Demoness’s hair!
“Well, that was interesting!” Jamie said.
“Yes, but let me give you some advice. The Chaos Realm is a dangerous place, so do not underestimate it! You will have Vanth, so make sure you listen to her!” Niorun said.
“Well, that will be a novelty!” Vanth retorted and Jamie just shrugged, making Vanth roll her eyes.
“The other advice is this, you will still have access to the Dream Realm, so make sure that you use it. Though, I can t promise you that Richard and Lux won’t be here!” Niorun said. Lux was a powerful Dream Walker and would be able to find Jamie in the Dream Realm easily.
“Yes, I know! But I will deal with that when the time comes!” Jamie said firmly.
Niorun suddenly hugged her and kissed the top of her forehead. “Be careful and good luck. May Father Light guide you and Mother Universe keep you safe!” Niorun said.
“Thank you, Uncle!” Jamie said.
“Now it is time to wake up!” Niorun said.
Jamie suddenly opened her eyes and found herself back in human form on the bed. Fluff must have teleported her there when she fell asleep and he was curled up by her.
“Welcome back, did we have fun?” Fluff mind-linked.
“It was interesting!” Jamie answered as she opened her hand and saw the Scale Stone Ring. The stone shimmered and moved like it was alive.
“So, do we have a plan to get Eric back?” Fluff said getting up and stretching himself.
“Yes, yes we do!” Jamie said with a smile.
“Well, it is about chaosing time!” Fluff said.
