The Detour: Adriana always found it hard to feel remorse for others around her. Now she became a homeless woman traveling alone, and she still perceived little remorse for those around her. She walked west for two days; the path skirted the mountains and hugged the foothills. She knew if she headed west she would hit the water. Near the water would be a nice place to start over, mending things on a street corner. Since the fire, her more severe symptoms receded, allowing her to interact with people more normally. People and dealing with them still exhausted her. She still fought the urge to keep counting things. It was never her intention to destroy her town, but the Magistrate could not help her, no one would help her there. Tired of walking, she took a break at a roadside stop. Too sm
