Christian
Trinity’s wolf, Carmen, was the most beautiful wolf I had ever seen. She was a light brown with dark brown paws and a patch of dark brown fur on her left shoulder. It was different. Her eyes were like honey. Maceo was just about melting.
It took some convincing, but he allowed me to shift back so I could make my announcement and end the party. We both wanted our mate to ourselves. As soon as I shifted back, the sweet smell of pumpkin spice made me growl lowly. Trinity was trying to cover herself as an omega bought us clothes to put on.
“MATE!” I couldn’t stop myself from pouncing on Trinity. Her eyes were wide in amusement.
“Christian Bryce Taylor!” Mom sounded completely disgusted.
I could hear people gasping, laughing, howling, scoffing. Finally, I felt someone yank me away from her. I turned to see Beta Giovanni trying to hold back a laugh. My dad was failing as he was doubled over, laughing hysterically. My mom scowled at me. Paige had her face screwed up.
I glanced around to see Trinity already dressed in a t-shirt and putting on a pair of shorts. I finally noticed the omega clutching a pair of gym shorts that she held out for me to grab. I hurriedly dressed as people started to calm down.
“Sorry, guys.” I was slightly embarrassed. My eyes met Trinity’s and she gave me a reassuring smile. I just wanted to kiss her and carry her off into the woods to be alone. After about another hour, the last of my guests left.
“Christian—“
“I have a feeling I know what you’re going to say. We won’t be out long. We just want our wolves to spend some time together. They’re driving us both crazy.”
“Ok, son. Don’t stay out too late. I’m sending someone to patrol and keep watch on the two of you.”
“Alright, dad.” I sighed. It was annoying how overprotective he could be, but I appreciated it.
“I’m going to find Trinity. Thanks again for the party.” I don’t know why or what even came over me, but I hugged my dad. I hadn’t done that since I was at least 11-years old.
He tensed a bit, but then hugged me back. We stayed in an embrace for a long minute. It seemed like he needed a hug, so I waited until he pulled away. He tried to turn before I saw his face, but it was too late. His eyes had tears in them. I started to follow him, but smelled the sweet pumpkin spice scent. I turned and watched Trinity approach me.
“Ready?”
“Absolutely!”
We walked hand in hand out of the packhouse and into the forest. As we undressed, Maceo was becoming more aggressive. I shifted first. My wolf nudged Trinity, which made her giggle. She shifted into Carmen. Our wolves started to roll around, playfully biting one another and purring in appreciation of their shared affection.
We eventually shifted back, allowing the bond to bring us closer. It wasn’t about anyone or anything else, but us. The Moon Goddess paired us. That was good enough for me. We laid back, still naked, our breath heavy. Trinity held me like she never wanted to let go.
The night was so perfect.
Trinity
I stared at my mark in the mirror. The Alpha and Luna knew we had mated, but they weren’t aware we had marked each other too. I let my hair down around my neck for the third time this week. Christian wanted to ease them into the conversation.
“Are you in there?!”
Paige.
She was a real pain in the neck. I was honestly done with her. I promised Christian I would be nice enough, but I really didn’t want to interact with her at all.
I dragged myself to the door and opened it enough to peek out. Paige pushed the door all the way open, catching me off guard. I staggered backward and caught my balance.
“Look, just because you’re my brother’s mate, doesn’t mean you get to …”
I began tuning her out. If she was searching for an argument, she could go elsewhere. Everything involving her was drama. I wanted no parts. I stared at a polaroid from a picnic date we had just before Christian’s birthday.
Paige suddenly stopped speaking and gasped. I glanced at her to see her jaw nearly on the floor. She started to huff and then bought her eyes up to mine. It took me a minute to realize she had seen my mark. My eyes widened.
“Paige—“
“Don’t say anything!” She screeched like she might explode.
“You don’t say anything. We are going to tell the Alpha and Luna tomorrow night at dinner.” I glared at her.
“Not if I tell them first!”
She left me no choice. I panicked as she turned and tackled her to the ground. She screamed and wiggled under my weight.
“Get off of me!”
I refused, pinning her to the floor leaning in to whisper.
“If you say anything before we get to speak to your parents ourselves, my first task as Luna will be to make you a rogue where you will live your days hunting for your food and wearing deer skin.”
“Ewww! Gross!” She scoffed and then let out a long grunt.
“Fine! I won’t tell them! But I’ll have you know, I’m doing this for my brother. He would never let you ban me.”
I stood, backing away into a fighting stance in case she decided to try anything. She just brushed her clothes off and walked out. I sighed and checked the hall to make sure the coast was clear.
I crept slowly down the hall and up the stairs to Christian’s room. I didn’t bother knocking because he usually left his door unlocked for me. His parents didn’t want us cohabitating so young. They decided we both needed to finish school before we started having pups. The thought of that did make me nervous.
I turned the doorknob and slipped inside. Christian looked up from the book he was reading.
“Hey, there.” He closed it and sat up. I hurriedly made my way to him and sat beside him on his bed.
“Paige saw my mark.”
He groaned.
“I threatened her into silence, but I told her we were going to tell your parents tomorrow at dinner.” I was wringing my hands.
“Ah, man. I guess we’re going to have to tell them. If we don’t, Paige will.” He looked to be deep in thought.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know what to say. She already doesn’t like me. I don’t want her to blame our secret on me or something.”
“It’s ok, Tee.” He pat my arm and smiled. That made me less nervous, but I didn’t trust that Paige. She would probably tell them anyway to spite me.
