What does she mean who is my father?
“Max Rivers is her father.” My mother says.
“Who is her biological father.” Miranda stares at my mother. I flick my eyes from Miranda to my mother and back again.
“Mom?” My voice cracks.
“Max Rivers.” My mom replies sternly.
“He is not her father.”
“Mom?” My voice is still small and in my throat.
“Max Rivers.” My mom replies again.
“You are lying! Tell your daughter the truth!” Disbelief and sadness wash over me.
“Is that true?” I ask. My mom turns her eyes to me, but I couldn’t read her expression.
“Your father is Max Rivers.”
“I can’t help her if you are going to hide things. We’re done here.” I throw my hands in front of Miranda.
