My heart was pounding hard against my chest like it was about to escape from my ribcage as I stormed away from her. I was breathing hard when I bumped into Aiden who was probably come back to check why was taking so long.
"What's wrong?" His hands encircled my waist and he pulled me closer to himself. He looked up to trace the direction of my gaze with his eyes then he caught sighted of the woman who was just about to get into her car.
With the way his brows narrowed, I could tell he recognized her too.
"It's okay," he whispered.
"Okay?" There was a hitch in my voice as I berated him.
"What if she saw me?"
It could be a disaster if she had seen me, there were several things that were capable of going wrong if she saw me.
