“Curb service?” Mel asked as she took the coffee. Addie laughed. “The only curb we have around here are one or two curb bits out in the tack room.” Mel smiled and reached to stroke Addie’s cheek. She closed the driver’s door to her SUV and leaned against the vehicle as she took a drink of coffee. “Perfect,” Mel said. “Me or the coffee?” “Yes.” Addie laughed. “I like the way you think.” “It took some doing, but I finally got hold of Sherine, and we talked via video conference,” Mel said. “She’s got awesome connections throughout Iraq. I’m hoping that pays off. I managed to reach Admiral Wells, too. He’ll do all he can to expedite anything we need there in Iraq. Couldn’t reach Canton so I sent him an email.
