Asher
One week later. Camellia had a full recovery as Misha said. I gave her a room in the main packhouse.
But she wanted to repay for it that’s why she wanted to work under me. I didn’t want to give her some tough job right away.
So, I gave her a job to tidy up my room and my belongings while doing light chores around the house.
But, little did I know that it was going to become torture for me.
When I have to see her around me 24/7 while I’m staying at the packhouse smiling at me with her reddened cheeks.
I heaved a sigh when she walked out of the room.
It was only 10 a.m.
And I’m already feeling so exhausted trying my best not to stare at her like a creep.
Why does she have to be so cute and clumsy at the same time?
I feel like walking up to her side and just pulling those chubby cheeks of hers. She looks just like a hamster.
Oh, no. I’m losing my personality trait. I’m not supposed to be this way.
I’m an adult. I’m 3 years older than her, and I need to act that way.
But, why do I become like a teenager whenever I’m around her?
I need to get my feelings and thoughts under control.
Yeah, take a deep breath and reset everything.
“Lord Asher!” a voice whispered near my ears drawing my attention.
I glanced sideways only to see Camellia staring at me while standing up close.
I was in my study sitting on the chair when and saw her my body tensed up.
“C-Camellia?” I gasped.
She looked at me in confusion.
“I had been calling you for several minutes. But, you weren’t paying attention so I got worried.” She replied, stepping away.
“Oh….”
I was lost in my thoughts. What could she even do?
“So, what were you calling me for?” I asked relaxing on my chair.
“Well….”.
“I’m done cleaning over here, except for the windows. I’ll start cleaning them.”
“And…”.
“And?”.
She seemed to be having a hard time saying what she wanted to.
“Go on. No need to worry,” I asserted, picking up the papers in my hands, and going through them.
“If possible….I’d also like to cook for you. Is that alright with you?”.
“Hm…do whatever?”.
I looked up at her with a shocked face.
“Go again?”.
Did I hear that right?
She lowered her gaze, looking a bit embarrassed.
“Well….I’d also like to take care of your food and meals. Is that alright?”.
“If only if you want to though.”
Here I’m trying to get over my obsession with her, and here she’s trying her best to make me happy.
Where on earth did I go wrong?
I only allowed her to stay as she had nowhere to go and she had suffered a lot back in her place.
I’m supposed to be her protector and look after her as her silent guardian. But, I’m failing in this task miserably.
“Maybe you don’t want that, do you?” she added, her voice sounded a bit sad and her disappointment was written all over her face.
“Uh…no, I mean-“.
“It’s alright if you don’t want to!” she said with a forced smile as she walked over to the side of the window to clean it.
Is she thinking I don’t want her to cook for me?
I was so lost in my thoughts that I ended up making her sad!
What have I done?
I need to clear up the misunderstanding.
I cleared my throat with a cough.
“Um….Camellia!” I called.
She stopped her work and turned to me while standing quite far away.
“What is it? You need anything?”.
“I don’t mind you preparing my meals. But, won’t that be too much for you to do, including housework and everything?”.
“I don’t want to be a burden to you just because I allowed you to stay here.”
I tried to sound as much reasonable as possible. I; 'm grateful for whatever that she’s able to provide for me.
I’m not asking for anything more than that.
I hope she doesn’t take this as an insult or anything. I’m not mocking her or ridiculing her.
“You want me to cook for you?” she asked with a surprised face.
I nod at her. “Yes.”
Her eyes lit up and she walked over to my side in a hurry.
“Are you sure? Did you say that?” she asked again.
“Do you want me to cook for you?”.
I nod at her again with a nervous smile. “Yes.”
Is she not able to believe my words or something?
“You agreed to it. you agreed to it!” she yelled out in laughter.
Is she so happy to cook for me?
Her happiness is quite blinding to look at.
“But,” her smile faded away the next second with a confused expression.
“I don’t know any proper cooking. Are you sure you want to eat whatever that I make?”.
I nod at her with a smile. “Make something edible. That’ll all.”
“I don’t need anything outstanding.”
She smiled, nodding at me. “I’ll do my best!”.
“I know.”
“I can go ask the chef lady to teach me something to make so I can cook something for lunch for you.”
“Yeah, you can.”
“Hm…I’m leaving then. I’ll clean the windows later!”.
“See you later, Lord Asher!” she said with a bow.
“See you, and good luck with your cooking.”
“Thanks,” she gave a bright smile and ran out of the door in a hurry.
She’s surely something. Not a single moment goes boring whenever you are with her.
A second later, someone knocked on my door.
“Lord, can I come in?” Noah asked in a bland tone.
“Yeah.” I looked in his direction as he entered.
He stood in front of my desk and placed down a paper.
“Some reports to look at.”
“By the way, what happened to her? She seemed awfully happy than usual today when I came towards your room.”
I heaved a sigh in response.
“She said she wants to cook for me,” I replied picking up the paper in my hands.
“Cook? For you? Why? Wasn’t the job you assigned not up to her liking?”.
“No, that’s not it.”
“She said she wants to do that with the rest of the jobs.”
“So…I..”.
“Agreed to it?” Noah added, narrowing his eyes at me.
I nod at him. “Yeah, I had no choice. She seemed to be unhappy when I was going to turn her down.”
Noah sighs crossing his arms. “Lord, you are unbelievable you know?”.
“I….know….”.
“Don’t blame me! I’m already blaming myself!”.
“Do as you wish!” he said, turning away and walking towards the door.
What did he come here for?
But, before he walked out he glanced at me.
“You are letting that girl toy around you as she pleases.” He remarks before walking out of the door.
Toy with me? She's certainly not the type of person to do that.
From what I had observed, she's a good person with good morals. She never had any intentions behind it.
