CHAPTER NINE Something jumped onto Brody’s chest. Not too heavy. About ten or eleven pounds, but unexpected and uncomfortable. Like this couch. His lower back ached. Disoriented and sleepy, Brody opened his eyes and blinked. Sunlight filled the living room. Black pupils wide against green irises, Loki stared down at him. Two teeth that resembled tiny vampire fangs stuck out from each side of his mouth. One of the cat’s long whiskers was white.
