Heaven Venezia:-
Spain. The moment we landed and got out of the car, my heart began pounding in my chest and I became suffocated by a combination of both anxiety and eagerness.
"Rick, are you sure your information is right? That he is here?" I asked Rick "Because I don't think I can bear another heartbreak if I don't find him today."
"I assure you, Heaven, that he is here. I would never lie to you, but I will advice you to stay strong and stand high and proud in front of everyone. Don't show any sign of weakness or they will eat you alive."
"Who are they, Rick? Where have you brought me?" I asked, confused looking at the estate in front of my eyes with a frown.
"The Spanish Mafia. We are in their territory, Heaven, so please play your card right as it can call for a war that we don't want. Not without Giovanni's presence." he said, looking down at his feet.
"We are at the mafia territory and you didn't bother telling me before, Rick? Why?!" I demanded, angry at him.
"You will find out soon enough, Heaven. Let's go inside, please and you will get the answer to all of your questions," he said after letting out a sigh. I looked into his eyes, trying to figure it out but failed as the man is good at hiding.
As we drew closer to the large plot of land that the estate sat on, I could feel my heart racing even more urgently. This was it. Giovanni was here. I could feel it. But there was something that troubled my mind — the feeling of fear that never left me. Maybe, it is because of what Rick said, or maybe there is something else waiting for me inside.
"Remember, stay strong and play your cards right," Rick mumbles from beside me.
As we entered the villa, all the men went ahead of me while I marched straight forward with my head up. And then, sitting in the middle of the luxurious living room, I found him. Alive. My love, my man, my husband, and the father of my children.
Giovanni.
I felt like my breath was caught right in my throat. He was reclined on an expensive-looking couch with his eyes barely open, as though he was dreaming out loud. But that was not what made me stand stunned and enveloped in a cold sweat with tears welling in my eyes that I tried to hold back.
No, it was the raven-colored hair woman leaning all over him, her fingers spread on his bare chest, her head resting on his shoulder as if he were her property, while her eyes were fixed on mine with a smirk on her face.
Carmen Martinez.
The Spanish Mafia Princess.
This anger that rose within me can be compared only to the greatest storm. My blood boiled, and all the cells of my body protested as I stood rooted to the ground, my eyes glued to the man I so longed for, the man I was seeking, doing my best to find him, was sitting in the embrace of another woman.
My Giovanni. All of a sudden I couldn't hold back and glared at the b***h.
"Step away from him. Right now!" I demanded, or more like shouted, with blood in my eyes, ready to kill her for touching my man. She didn't speak anything or dare to move, instead, she chuckled and kept her gaze on me. I wanted to kill her, but when my gaze landed on my husband once again, I couldn't help it.
Reluctantly I stepped forward, my voice barely above a whisper as I spoke. "Giovanni."
His head jerked up at the sound of my voice, but his face was blank and he did not seem to know me. Suddenly he stared at me as though I were a complete stranger. My chest constricted painfully, my head spinning as he was trying his best to comprehend what was going on around him.
"Wh...Who...Who are you?" Giovanni asked with trembling lips, a broken and low voice, but it was his uttered words that shattered my heart into pieces "Do...Do I know you?" he asked confused, looking at me with no expressions. I took a step back, shocked and broken after hearing his words, and would have fallen down if Rick hadn't caught me on time.
A satisfied smile formed on Carmen's face when she looked at my state and stood up, to approach me, and leaned closer to whisper in my ear " Tsk...tsk...tsk, Donna, looks like your husband doesn’t know you anymore. He doesn’t remember anything or anyone except for me."
"You! What did you do to him?" I demanded, pushing her away from me in anger, which made all of her men gunpoint right at me, but I wasn't scared. I wasn't scared a little bit "What the f**k did you do to my husband?!"
"Nothing, I absolutely did nothing but take care of him and his needs. You know the needs a man has." Carmen said, her voice sultry as she spoke, to let me know that she didn't just take care of my husband, but slept with him too, that made me see red and point my gun at her, ready to go for the kill.
"You b***h! I am going to kill you! How dare you sleep with my husband?!" my voice was dangerous and echoed in the surrounding but she stood unfazed, and fearless on her ground.
"Husband?" came Giovanni's confused voice when he heard me call him my husband twice "I am your husband?"
"Yes...yes, my love. You are my husband and I am your wife. I have come here to take you back home with me. To Italy." I tell him with tears in my eyes, taking a step in front of him when he stands up and asks.
"No, you are lying. You are not my wife," Giovanni spoke, shaking his head "She is." he said pointing at Carmen, breaking my heart into pieces with his words.
"What?!"
