-The pixies who live on the moon in the sky Pop-out at night and shout with a cry “let’s paint the sky with glow balls of light, Let’s stretch out wings and fly full flight!” And off thy dance like acrobats With glittering skin and bell topped hats. Cartwheeling forth through the dusty air, They adorn all the stars with twinkle and flare. – A mother was reading out a poem from the fairy tale book that she had in her hand, sitting on the bed next to her five-year-old daughter Lily, who was wearing tiny red socks with white stripes, and her long blonde hair was in a beautiful round bun. Her cute face and small feet were all you will see as she was tucked in the Cinderella duvet from the sides. It looked adorable, how she was listening to the poem her mom was reciting in her subtle voice when her eyelids were getting heavy as the sleep was devouring her. Her mom saw her drowsing, so leaving the rest of the poem for the next night, she kissed her before tucking her feet inside. And when she was about to leave the room, she hears Lily say, “Mom, are fairies real.” She asked in her sweet innocent sleepy voice. Her room was like a Disney world for every die heart Disney enthusiast. It was pink, blue and white. The curtains in her room were pink colored. There were wallpapers and posters of all the Disney princesses on the walls, from snow white to Mulan to tiny tinker bells, there were all of them, even her comforter had a Cinderella on it riding her carriage. Anyone will know by the look and vibe of her room that how much she likes fairies and princesses. She always asks this question to her mother before going to bed, are fairies real? Is there a prince charming? And always her mom would say the same thing to her. But no matter how many times she heard it, it was always just as new for her as for the first time. “Yes darling, fairies are real.” Her mom answered. “Do they like playing with kids? Will they be my friends?” she asked again. “you remember Lily, fairy godmother from Cinderella?” she asked. “yes mommy,” Lily answered. “fairy godmother loves children, she will send a fairy to the kid who does well in schools and listens to their parents, so they can play with them.” “really mom? I will be a good girl from now. I will listen to whatever you say. I won’t even fight with that stupid Andrea at school even if she bullies me.” she said innocently. “if you do that fairy godmother will send her best fairy to you to be your best friend. And to be a good girl you should sleep early.” “Okay mom, good night.” She wished her mom. “bibidiboo.” Her mom said turning off the lights, as the lights went off in her room, her room filled with glow in the night stars, on the walls, on the ceiling, almost everywhere. It was eyes pleasing to see. After tucking her baby to sleep, Juliane went to the room next to her daughter’s, which was her bedroom. “Juliane is Lily asleep?” The husband asks his wife as he saw her coming to their bedroom. Their bedroom was neat, warm, and well-coordinated with brown and cream color. It had a French bed in the middle of the front wall, with two lampshades on each side, a vanity table with a footstool on the left wall of the room beside the two large windows with cream and brown curtains hanging. They had a big family photo above the head post of their bed, it was maybe a bit old as Lily looked much tinier and adorable in it. “Yes Tom, she slept early, she didn’t wait for me to even complete the poem. She looked tired today.” Said Juliane as she sat on their bed next to her husband. “School is tiring these days. Don’t think too much about it.” Thomas said. “She told me that there is some girl Andrea in her school who is bullying her. Should I talk to the teacher at her school, she gets scared with a little scold, how will she handle being bullied.” She suggested. “I think we should let her deal with it. She should know how to protect herself. If it gets too serious, then we will complain in school. Okay?” he said calmly. “Okay, we can do that.” Uttered Juliane rubbing her hand on Thomas’s bare chest pursing her lips. “come,” he said lightly patting on his shoulder while lying on the bed and soon they both drifted to sleep. Next evening when Juliane was back from work, she went to pick her daughter up from school which was certainly not the easiest thing to do in the snowy weather. “Hey baby, how was your day?” she asked joyfully. “It was good,” Lily uttered in an almost inaudible voice. It was strange for Julie as her daughter is always happy and smiling. She never saw her in a bad mood. So, she can’t help but ended up asking, “Did something happen today? Why are you so down?” she was worried that maybe she again got bullied today. “I am fine mom! Can we go home? I am hungry. I want spicy chicken wings.” Julie knew something was wrong, Lily never behaves like this. she is the sweetest thing in her and moreover she hates spicy food. But having nothing more to say, Julie drove back to their home. It was still early for dinner and she was tired from her meeting today so she got a takeout of a bucket of spicy chicken wings on the way. As they got back, Julie got two plates from the kitchen to serve Lily the food she was craving but as she opened the takeout it was light and empty. There was no way it was empty before, the only thing that could have happened is that Lily ate it. She went to her room to ask, but she found her sleeping in her bed instead. As she walked downstairs back to the kitchen, she was confused about what to think. It was all so strange how she suddenly started behaving weirdly. When such things happen, the one she has on her mind is possibly just one person, her old acquaintance, and friend, Reeve. She knew he was the only one who could help her figure out what was going on with her daughter. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “come on Reeve, this is not that bad. We have to work if we want to find something about the crossbreed offspring of angel and human.” Jim said in a convincing tone doing air quotes with his fingers. They were both sitting on a table in the public library with at least half a dozen books on their table. “This is just your geeky ass saying.” He spoke out haughtily. “all the answers that we are looking for might be hidden in the book, we have to keep researching no matter what,” Jim said. “We have been doing this for the past week, if I don’t get some break now, I will surely go crazy.” Reeve told him. Suddenly his phone started buzzing, so to attend the call he walked out of the library leaving his nerdy look lover brother to continue his research. In just a few minutes, reeve came back inside and said to Jim, “Jim, I got a case. I think we will have to go and take a look.” “what is it? And what about our work, our research?” he questioned. “we will continue this after the case, and if I don’t do some real work, and kick some asses now, I might actually become a book worm,” Reeve replied. “where are we going?” Jim asked. “Omaha, Nebraska,” Reeve replied. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “fairy godmother loves children, she will send a fairy to the kid who does well in schools and listens to their parents, so they can play with them.” “really mom?
