Awkward. That was an understatement when I think of how the atmosphere between me and Genius is. There was pure silence and I could almost hear crickets. Thanks to the sound of the television. I was looking down, still trying to calm the beating of my heart, when Genius cleared his throat. I waited for him to speak even though I prayed that he wouldn’t. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “But I’m not regretting what I did.” My eyes slightly widened as I looked at him. He doesn’t regret anything. Well, Genius never regrets anything. He’s never done things on a whim. He’d always think twice or thrice before acting on a decision. He raised his gaze and smiled at me weakly. “I have been trying to suppress my feelings for you, McCarrienne. I am happy now that I have finally told you how I feel.
