JERICHO was surprised to see me waiting for him outside his school. His surprise turned to worry as he walked towards me. When he got to where I was, he asked, “What’s wrong, mom? Why are you here?”
I kneeled in front of my son and said “Nothing’s wrong, baby. I came home from work early today so I figured I’ll pick you up from school.”
It wasn’t a lie. I did go to work and came home early. Actually, I was forced to go home and stay out for the rest of the week. I’m not even sure if I still have a job to go back to. I hope Paul was not as vindictive as Ashley and that he accepted my apologies for what I’ve done to him in the past.
