Chapter 5 The cabin loomed large as we cleared the last bend in the path. It was a squat building with overgrown foliage snaking around the sides. Somehow, light shone from the inside, practically bursting through broken windows. “This isn’t right,” I said. “I know.” Gage paused for a second, but then continued with me. I was never so thankful to have someone at my side. It gave me the push I needed to finally vocalize my feelings. “Hey, so, uh, when this is all over, you want to eat with me?” Smooth.
