Twin´s POV Who was that girl who had stumbled upon us? After observing her for just a few seconds, my wolf began to howl, strongly, and I knew that my brother's wolf did the same. It was extremely strange because our wolves had never been so agitated by a young woman, let alone both of them at the same time. And much less for a simple and fragile human. After the incident, I looked into my brother's eyes and knew that he shared the same unease that was gripping my chest. We waited until we had left school to discuss it. ‘Did you feel it? Did your wolf also howl?’ My brother's questions were rhetorical because I was sure he had sensed it. ‘It's the strangest thing that has ever happened to us, don't you think? Both wolves, at the same time, and only at the sight of a human?’ I smiled at how absurd that sounded. I saw the way my brother twisted his lips. To him, more than finding the situation amusing, it seemed to worry him. ‘We've never felt attraction for the same female, except, well, you know, I won't even mention it…’ He replied as we got into the car, him behind the wheel. ‘Do you think it was attraction?’ I didn't doubt it. My wolf never got excited unless attracted to a female in mating age, and the young woman, though human, was quite attractive. ‘Have you ever been with a human?’ I believed I knew the answer to that question, but I wanted to take advantage of the circumstance to confirm it. After starting the car, my brother shook his head. "No, never, that's why this surprises me even more," he said, breaking the mental link. "Both of us, attracted to the same human? Well, you know we'll have to come to an agreement about this." I smiled again and enjoyed the scenery in silence. I couldn't get the human out of my head. She was attractive, yes, I admitted it. Dark, long hair, silky skin, and deer-like eyes that kept looking at me while her cheeks blazed with fire, embarrassed by the funny way she stumbled upon us. I smiled again, and the gesture did not go unnoticed by my brother. "Are you excited? Do you like the idea of liking a human?" I turned my gaze to him, still smiling. "Yes, very much, so this time it's your turn to step aside, brother. Last time, I was the one who took a step back; this time it's your turn." I saw the expression that formed on his face. Although I knew he would yield because of the twin bond that united us and because we were brothers, I knew he would do it with difficulty. The human had pleased both of us. I just hoped that, for a simple female, we wouldn't have problems. Sussan's POV "Wait, are you serious?" I asked when I saw Dory's furrowed brow after I had asked her if she knew about a job. I had spent the entire morning looking for something, but the only references I got were as a waitress in roadside restaurants, which didn't work for me due to the enormous distance I would have to travel to get to those places. "If you're looking for something nearby with good tips, it's the only option, sorry," Dory affirmed as she chewed gum. I lowered my gaze, unable to believe it. I needed a job if I wanted to fulfill my goal of independence as soon as I turned eighteen in a few months, but it had to be a job that wasn't too far from home to save on transportation. "They say they give really good tips," Dory added next, after seeing the gray cloud that had settled over my head. "You should drop by there, even if just to see what the work is like on a normal day." I snorted, and I'll explain why. The job Dory had recommended was at a car wash. You might wonder what's wrong with that, and if it's summer, it's better to have a job where there's cold water running over your body all the time, right? Well, that part didn't sound bad, but upon hearing "car wash," the typical image of girls in wet T-shirts showing everything had formed in my mind. Maybe I was just letting myself be carried away by a wrong impression, and the idea of getting good tips convinced me to give that job a chance. "Okay, Dory, I'll drop by there. Thanks." I didn't take long to reach the place where my next job might be. I now lived in a small town, very different from the big city I was used to, and everything seemed close to me. I saw the place and took a deep breath. I had never considered working at a car wash. I crossed the street and approached with the intention of following Dory's recommendation and seeing what a normal workday was like in that place. I soon realized that the parked cars were high-end, which caught my attention immediately. The customers, some sitting in a small but well-stocked waiting area, seemed to be good, honest, hardworking people, and, above all, millionaires. I was pleased to see that the young people washing the cars wore overalls, and there were even other girls working. I gathered my courage and crossed the street. "Do you have any experience washing cars?" the manager, a middle-aged man who gave me the impression of being a good person, asked. I was about to say no, but before that, I thought, who in their life couldn't have some experience washing a car. "I used to wash my neighbors' cars when I was little," I lied, but in my mind, that image projected, and I think I sounded convincing because the manager immediately smiled. "That's enough. I also see that you're a hardworking girl, and I like that look in your eyes. Can you start today?" I returned the smile, satisfied. I wasn't the only person my age; there were other girls, dressed in loose overalls that distorted the s****l image associated with women washing cars. The clients seemed respectful, wealthy, and surely, their tips would be substantial. "How did you say your name was?" the manager asked as he handed me the contract to sign. "Sussan, sir. Sussan Sforza." The manager raised an eyebrow and looked at me with a certain admiration, a gesture I was familiar with because of the effect my foreign last name had, which I had taken from my father on legal advice. "Alright, Miss Sforza, just put your signature here and go to the dressing room to pick an overall in your size." The manager called one of the girls who was currently rinsing a huge Mercedes truck. "Aly, come, I need you to work with Sussan, the new one, and give her a quick car washing diploma." My eyes met Aly's, a tough-looking yet friendly girl, who smiled as soon as she saw me, as if we had known each other forever. Despite the thick overall covering her, it was easy to guess there was a well-defined body underneath. In addition to her attractive face, her brown and curly hair was perfect. "Come on, I'll take you to the dressing room," Aly said promptly. I signed the document, barely checking that my information was correct, and followed Aly to choose my work overall. Aly proved to be a great teacher, and an hour later, we were finishing polishing the Mercedes truck. "Are all the clients wealthy people?" I asked when I felt I had built enough trust with Aly to ask such questions. "Most of them," she replied. "But as much as they have money and give you good tips, they expect the service to be the best, so they are very demanding, and some have that arrogance typical of wealth, you know?" I nodded, confident that I understood what she was referring to. I put a little more effort into the shine I was giving to the truck and scrubbed with a bit more force. "Here come the owners of this beauty," Aly said immediately, using the tip of her upturned nose to point in the direction my eyes should go. I almost stepped back when I looked up. I couldn't believe it! It was them, the twins, the same ones I had encountered the day before in the school director's office. My cheeks flushed immediately. "For example, they leave good tips," Aly continued, unaware of the fire I had on my face, "but they are quite meticulous with details and even notice how much shine you've given to the rearview mirrors." My legs were trembling, and I couldn't believe my bad luck. The twins were approaching to inspect their car, the first one I had helped wash on my first day of work. They would surely find some defect and create a scene. I wanted to disappear, plunge into the drain where the soapy water was currently flowing. I was convinced that those two were typical spoiled rich kids who believed that other people were just pawns at their disposal. I swallowed hard when I saw the green eyes of the twins meet mine and seemed to recognize me. "Pleased to meet you," one of the twins mocked, alluding to what had happened the day before, which further ignited my cheeks, and I felt the need to splash my face with the cold stream from any of the car wash hoses. "Don't be too hard on her, guys. She's new. It's her first day," Aly said with a certain haughtiness. The way Aly addressed them left no doubt that they must be friends, or at least acquaintances, with a long history. I felt the twins' gaze scanning every inch of my body, and I was grateful to be wearing that heavy and wide overall. "If she worked with you, we're sure the truck is more than perfect, right, brother?" I felt that, despite one of the twins asking the other a question, neither of them could take their eyes off me. It was quite uncomfortable considering that they seemed to be inspecting me more than their Mercedes truck. "Yes, we're sure everything is fine," the other twin replied. "But your new friend doesn't talk, Aly?" "It seems she's very shy, brother. It's better not to bother her." I lifted my eyes and met their gazes, which seemed to have forgotten the existence of everything around them. I forced myself to say something. "Of course, I can talk, don't think otherwise." "Oh, listen, brother, she does speak and is able to answer us." "I like her voice. I hope to hear it more often." "Well, what's going on with you two?" Aly intervened between the twins and me. "Are you going to inspect the truck or not?" There was still a moment of silence in which the twins seemed not to have heard Aly, and their gaze on me began to make me feel like I was floating. I couldn't believe I could have any effect on those two perfect beautiful men. "Well, we're leaving now," one of the twins reacted. "We hope to see you again, cutie." The powerful stream from one of the car wash hoses shook me out of my stupor and allowed me to return to reality. My eyes followed the twins' path to the p*****t counter. "This has never happened," Aly said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "They're paying without even dedicating a second to look at the truck." I raised my eyebrows and gave Aly a smile. Now we had to take our washing equipment to another vehicle, a sports car that must cost ten times more than the house I was living in. "The twins must have been delighted with your work, girls." The manager handed us the tip receipt when we were about to finish our shift that day. Aly took the receipt, and her eyes almost fell on the paper. She passed it to me, and my eyes couldn't believe what they saw, despite having it in front of me. "But they didn't even inspect the truck," I whispered after seeing the four-digit figure. "But they inspected you very well," Aly replied with a mischievous smile. Satisfied with a day of work well done, but more so with the tip received, we left the car wash together, and when we parted ways, I thought I saw, hidden behind a bush on the other side, a Mercedes van that started moving right away.
