The next morning Damon had woken up and had freshened up to leave. He looked at Serene sleeping peacefully on the bed and wondered why he felt nothing but s****l desires for her. She had every thing any man could desire. And she was madly in love with him.
He shrugged the thoughts and turned his back to leave when he heard her calm voice "Heyy... Where are you going it's just seven in the morning? Stay a little longer please??"
"I've got work to do and I need to get home first" replied Damon as he turned to look at her.
"But I wanna talk to you, you've never really told me about yourself since we met. It's been a year now. We only have s*x. To think of it you only come to see me or call me when you need to f**k with me. What exactly are we Damon?, What am I to you ?? Are we in a relationship??" Serene looked serious for the first time since he met her.
" We're lovers Serene, I'm not interested in a relationship with you. I'm only here for the s*x" Damon replied in a cold tone and left.
Serene could not believe her ears. She suddenly began to feel her face heat up and her cheeks burn. Hot tears rolled down her cheeks
" I can't believe this!, After all I gave him, my body ,my love, everything, how could he say such to me?, Am I not pretty enough? Or am I not charming enough?
Does he have other women he sees? " Series of questions popped into Serene's mind as she broke down into more and more tears.
On getting home, Damon could hear Serene's sobs and desires. Still he felt nothing. "The woman is gorgeous and deserves a good man to take care of her. I am not him. She'd find someone else". He concluded not wanting to think about it again.
Angelica
Angelica twirled and sang in their cottage happily.
She was a happy child. Never sad.
Farmer Esteban had found her when she was only a few days old at the heart of the Bell Forest. Her mother had abandoned her as she probably wasn't ready to take care of the baby.
Angelica was a blessing to Esteban,She kept him company, everything seemed to start working out right from the moment he started taking care of her. His crops grew faster and his harvests were always bountiful.
Everytime she sang he felt soothed.. he noticed how animals in the forest would gather in front of their tiny kitchen door to listen to her
She had a characteristic sunflower scent and made the best porridge he had ever had, She reminded him of his wife.
Angelica knew everything about the forest even without being taught. She knew how to grow crops and how-to fight pests. She was also very good at making elixirs and healing potions. Esteban got so obsessed with her that he never let her wonder past the forest. He made sure she never came across any other human being for fear of her leaving him.
He setup traps every where in the forest for people who might venture in or try to find out their cottage.
He made Angelica believe that there were no other humans on earth and straying beyond the forest would attract danger and bad luck. He also never told her who she really was and how he found her.
Angelica never really had an issue with her father's outrageous rules because she had grown without people in her life so everything seemed okay although she always wanted to know what lay behind the broad trees and thick vegetation of the Bells forest.
Occasionally she asked how she was born as she observed the animals needed a mate of the opposite gender to reproduce.
Esteban always told her," Mi Reina... You needn't not worry about your origins. I am all you have and you are all I have. Fate brought us together and here we are happy. Maybe one day when you are old enough I will tell you everything, but for now, go make me some of your delicious porridge."
These were always Esteban's words. Angelica had heard them so much that she got tired of asking questions and accepted the fact that Esteban was all she had and all she needed.
Esteban knew he was never going to tell Angelica anything. He had made up his mind that he wouldn't say anything about how she was found, where she was found, and most importantly that he was not her actual father.
