After lunch, Richard is sitting in the living room. He can't get the conversation that he had with what happened with Howard about Isabell off of his mind. So, Richard, had Flossie ride out to Betty's farm. He wants to talk to her. He knew that if he went he would probably have to kill Howard. Richard thought about Qaletaqa killing Howard. He knows that if Howard ever touches Isabell that Qaletaqa, Isabell's beau, or he would kill Howard.
Richard heard Flossie and Betty walk into the room. Betty is looking nervous. She thinks that he has bad news about her daughters.
