Getting Ready

Makayla POV

I sat in the living room with my mom and my brother watching Big Bang Theory. I loved this show. And I loved Sheldon. He was so funny.

"Baby, what do you want to do for your birthday?" Mom asked. I was about to turn seventeen in two weeks. I was fall baby. Born in November.

"Well Stephanie has to come up or Im going there." I said.

"I know honey. But what would you like to do? Have a party? Go somewhere? Start talking Kayla."

"Party." I said. "Marqus?"

"What?" He asked while on his phone.

"Can you dj for me?"

"No!"

"But you said that when I turn seventeen you would dj for me!" I said.

"I lied."

"You're actually so mean!!"

"Marqus? Just DJ for her." Mom begged.

"Ma-"

"Ill pay you." She added.

"Deal." He said not even looking up from his phone. Mom and I laughed at him. He would do anything for money.

"So what kind of party?" Mom asked.

"A really live one." I said. "I want it to be pink black and white. And you better play some good music." I said to Marqus. He nodded. "Can Stephanie come up next week to help plan?" I asked mom.

"Sure dear. As long as she can get her schoolwork finished before." Mom said. I took out my phone and texted her.

Me: Stephanie!!!

Bestie: Whats up sis?

Me: Think u can get most of your work finished by next week?

Bestie: Y?

Me: Cause you need to come down and help me get my party ready :)

Bestie: Ahh!!! Okay!!

Me: Yeah! So finish it so you can come!

Bestie: Aiight

"Okay mom. I just told her. She said she'll have it done."

"Okay. Marqus you better play some good song. Mama needs to get her twerk on!" Mom said with a smile.

"Mama no!" I yelled.

"Listen y'all teens dont know how to drop ass. Imma show you guys." She said getting up.

"Im out." Marqus said getting up and leaving.

"Mom sit down!" I said. She turned on Drop It Low and started to dance to it. I covered my eyes as my phone started ringing.

"Hello?" I answered.

"What the f**k you mean you sleeping with Dre!" Someone yelled.

"What?"

"You heard me!" I looked at the number and saw it was Javon. "Come outside." I got up from the couch and ran outside to see his car parked in the driveway. He came out the car and I walked over to him. He looked pissed off but calm.

"Javon whats going on?"

"Imma asked you NICELY. And you better give me the truth." He said. "Did you f*****g sleep with Dre?" He half yelled.

"No I did not." I said raising my voice. "Why the hell would you-"

"Girl, you better lower your voice with me." He said cutting me off.

"Excuse me? Ill talk to you however I want. Why the f**k you think I did!"

"Cause Dre came to me and told me-"

"So you finna believe him and not me! Boy Im your f*****g girlfriend-"

"And he's been my nigga for who knows how long! You just came here! I have every right to believe him over your ass!"

"Oh! Bros before hoes! Okay niggah! I see how you be! Get the f**k off my property!"

"I aint need you." He said walking to his car. He got in and drove off. How can he say that to me? How can he think I would sleep with Dre? Im still a freaking virgin and he knows that. I walked back into the house and got mom's car keys.

"Mom! Im going to the mall! Im using your car!" I yelled.

"Okay honey! Be careful!" She yelled back. I left the house and got into her car. I decided to call up Leah to see if she wanted to come with me. It rang twice before she picked up.

"Hello?" She whispered.

"Why the hell you whispering?"

"Can you hurry this up?"

"Wanna come to the mall with me? I can pick you up."

"Uhhh sorry I cant. Ill talk later." She said hanging up. I guess I was going alone since Dreanne already told me she had a lot to do tonight. I sighed drove to mall. I was so mad right now. I was gonna kill Dre tomorrow.

I walked through the hallways pissed as hell. It was seven thirty in the morning. I wanted to talk to Dre personally. I knew he would be at school early. I saw him at his locker talking to some girl. I walked up to him and he looked at me

"I need to talk to you." I said.

"Aiight." He said. He looked at the girl and she smiled and left. "Whats up?"

"Why would you tell Javon that I slept with you? What have I done to you! You know I f*****g love Javon with all I got and you want to f*****g say that!" I screamed.

"Yo, chill."

"I cant f*****g chill! Javon been ignoring me! I tried calling him! I went to his house! I did everything and he aint talking to me!!" I said. I started to let the tears fall. I missed my boo. I haven't seen or talk to him since last night when he yelled at me. Dre pulled me into a hug and sigh.

"Makayla Im sorry." He said. I looked at him wishing that he would just say something. "Aiight, Imma tell you why I did that but you CANT and I repeat CANT tell Jordan I told you everything." I nodded wondering what Jordan had to do with it. Dre told me everything about how Jordan told him to tell Javon that I slept with him cause he was trying to break me and Javon up. How Jordan loved me and wanted me to be with him and not Javon. Dre also told me that Jordan was planning a lot against Javon.

"You're not f*****g serious." I said.

"Im serious." He said as I saw Javon walking through the hallway."

"Can we please tell Javon. I need him back and I need him to know about this." I said.

"Fine. Yo Javon!" Dre yelled. Javon came over to us not even glancing at me.

"Whats up?" He said.

"Look man, I lied to you. Your girl aint do s**t with me." He said.

"Man why the f**k would you lie to me?" Javon asked him. Dre started to explain everything to him. "I knew something was up with that niggah."

"Yeah, so watch out. Both of you. Now I gotta find this shawty I was talking too a few minutes ago." He said leaving us.

"Kayla, Im sorry. I didn't know." Javon said. I looked at him and just hugged him. He hugged me back and kissed my forehead.

"Can we go out tonight? I missed you over the weekend."

"Of course babygirl." We walked out to his car and everyone else was there. Including Jordan. I wasn't going to say anything to him about it and neither was Javon. We would just wait and see what was going to happen.

School was going okay so far. But I was paranoid as hell. I decided to hangout with Jordan at lunch which was five minutes away. When the bell rang, I hopped up off my seat and headed towards the door and to my locker. I got my bag, closed my locker, and watched as Jordan came towards me. He was a great looking guy. A little bit more good looking than Javon but not by much.

"Hey Kayla, you ready?" He asked me.

"Yup. Let's go." I said. Javon knew I was spending lunch with Jordan but he wasn't excited about it. I told him that nothing would happen and that I would tell him if he tried anything on me. Jordan and I walked out the hallway and to his car. I got in and he did as well.

"What do you want?" He asked me.

"We could get pizza I guess." I said. He nodded and started the car. It was kinda awkward talking to him knowing that he was out to get Javon.

"So what happened between us?" He asked.

"I dont know. You tell me."

"I guess we grew apart."

"No. You just decided that you didn't want to talk to me." I said.

"I know. Im sorry. I just got caught up in a bunch of shit." He said.

"Like?"

"Family stuff."

"Oh okay. I guess I can forgive you." He laughed. I laughed also. "Oh, my birthday is coming up soon."

"I know. I remembered."

"Aww. How cute. Well Im having a party and your invited."

"Cool. Imma be the life of party." He said with a smile.

"Nah, mama gonna be the life the party. You know how she is. She loves to shake her booty these days."

"Really?" He asked while laughing. I nodded. We got to Pizza Hut. He parked the car and we got out. We sat down at a table. We order a medium extra cheese pizza two cokes. Lunch went pretty good. We talked about school and what we planned on doing in the future. I actually did miss Jordan. A lot. And it was nice to spend a bit of time with him. We finished eating and headed back to school for our last class. We said our goodbyes and went our separate ways since we didn't have the same class. I went to my locker got my books and headed to Psychology.

When class was over, I went back to my locker and got my bag and headed to Javon's locker. Everyone was around his locker and he looked mad and so did everyone else. I walked up to them and wondered what happened. "Hey whats wrong?" I asked. They snapped out their mad mood and instantly looked at each other.

"Uh, whatchu talking about?" Andrew asked. They really thought I was stupid.

"You guys looked and still look pissed off." I answered.

"No we didn't." Dre said. "Whats there to be pissed about? Its the end of the school and its nice outside-"

"Dude, its raining." Leah said. He gave her the finger and looked away. I looked at all of them. Especially Jordan and Javon. Something was going on.

"Well, I aint stupid and I know something is wrong. But Imma wait till y'all say something. Anyways, Im having my birthday party and you guys are invited." I said.

"Ouu, I love parties!" Dreanne said. I laughed.

"Its gonna be turnt up." I said.

"Aiight." Jordan said. "I gotta bounce. See y'all later." He said. Everyone else left leaving Javon and I alone.

"Let's go." He said. I stood there and crossed my arms. "What?"

"Whats going on with you guys?"

"Nothing. Lets go."

"Im not going anywhere until you tell me whats going on with you guys."

"Makayla lets go."

"No."

"Well then you better find your own way home." He said walking away from me.

"Excuse me? Why cant you just tell me? Im your-"

"A friend of ours died." He yelled.

"Awww baby!!" I said running up to him. I hugged him tightly. "Im so sorry."

"Lets go okay." I nodded. We ran out to his car trying not to get wet. We got in and he drove off.

"You wanna come over?"

"Cant."

"Okay." I said. And with that the rest of the drive was silent. He drove up to my driveway and stopped. "Ill call you?" He didn't say anything. I sighed and got out. I walked up to my door and went inside. I walked up to my room and placed my things down. I walked passed my bed and looked at it. I saw a figure sleeping under my covers. What the hell? I swear I told my mom to stop sleeping in my bed. "Mom! Get the f**k up!!" I yelled pulling the cover. But I realized that it wasn't her. "Who the...STEPHANIE!!!!!!

"I was sleeping you know." She said stretching. "And its about time you came home b***h!!" She yelled with a smiled. I jumped her and hugged her.

"Ahh! You're here!"

"Of course. My mom talked to your mom about it and for the two weeks Im here, Imma be going to your school and everything."

"Oh my gosh! Really?" She nodded. "Yay!!"

"Girls!! Come downstairs!!" I heard my dad yell. We got up and ran downstairs. Mom and Dad sat in the living room all cuddled up together.

"Yeah daddy?"

"I got you a place for your birthday."

"Where?"

"I rented a house. We gonna check it out now." I nodded. Soon we were in the car driving around.

"So how are you and Daniel?" I asked Stephanie.

"Going good. He feels offended though." She said.

"Why?"

"Cause you invited me and not him." She said laughing.

"Awww. Call him." I said. She took out her phone and started dialling.

"Hey baby...Im good...Makayla wants to talk to you." She passed the phone to me.

"Hey Danny!" I said into the phone.

"Whats up Makks?" He said into the phone.

"I heard you were offended because I didn't invite you to my party."

"Well yeah! You aint even invite your nigga. I feel like Ive been dumped." He said. I laughed.

"Well, Im inviting you okay?" I said.

"Ion know. You probably just inviting me cause Stephanie told you too." He said sounding sad.

"Aww. No. I just started inviting people."

"Aiight. Ill come. When is it?"

"In two weeks. Ill send you the details."

"Kay. Put my girl back on." I handed the phone back to Stephanie. I looked out the window and saw that we were in some fancy neighbourhood. These houses were huge. Soon dad drove to this gate. It opened and a huge and mean HUGE mansion was there. We drove around the fountain and dad parked the car.

"Alright girls. Lets check it out." Mom said. We all got out and stood in front of the house.

"Damn." I said.

"Wait till you see inside." Dad said. We walked up to the door and dad took out a key. He unlocked it and I opened the door. This place was really big. I was speechless. This place was my dream house. It had white walls and floors, with a gorgeous chandelier, a huge staircase that led upstairs. Overall this place was awesome.

"Oh my gosh! This is where the party will be???" Stephanie yelled after getting off the phone. "Daayyuumm! Pops hooking you up!"

"Just like he did for yours. Thank you daddy!" I said giving him a hug.

"Your welcome." He said. "You gotta come back next week and tell them what you want okay?"

"Alright." I said. I was so excited for my birthday. I was gonna have the best party ever. My dad has money to last him till he's past dead. Being the owner of a very successful business. I guess you can say I was pretty well off when it came to money. Mom won the lottery two years ago, so that 75 Million dollars isn't finished. Plus her job thats pays her good money and dads business, I can afford pretty much everything I want. But I dont show off. After leaving the mansion, dad dropped Stephanie and I at the mall so we could do a bit of shopping. We walked out the mall with at least 10 bags. EACH. When we got home, Stephanie crashed on my bed. I was watching Love and Hip Hop Atlanta when my phone started ringing. I picked it up and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey babygirl." Javon said. I sighed. "Kayla dont sigh on me. I'm sorry about earlier."

"What was going on that made you act like that?"

"I cant tell you right now. But I promise that I will tell you soon." He said. I stayed silent. "Think you can come outside?"

"Boy are you outside my house?" I asked him. He laughed as I got up and looked out my window. I saw his car parked outside.

"Come out here." He said. I got my sweater and left my room. I walked out the door and towards his car. I knocked on his window and he got out. He stood in front of me looking fly as hell. "Do you forgive me?" He asked. I wrapped my arms around him.

"Yes. I forgive you."
