Winning the Alpha's Heart

Chapter 2

The wind felt refreshing across Twilight's snow white fur as she ran along the pack's board line, occasionally stopping to walk instead.

"Ya know, it wouldn't hurt you to celebrate your birthday, right?" She heard Tis say.

Tis was her sweet, lovable wolf. Well she was sweet and lovable but only when she felt like it, otherwise she was a total b***h. This was one of the things that made Tis and Twilight so similar.

"Oh yeah?" Twilight asked.

"Uh, duh. Birthdays are super important and special ya know, cause they mean you're a whole year closer to finding your mate. And ours is especially important cause it means we're only two years from finding our handsome mate. Gosh, just thinking about it makes me so excited that I wanna scream until my lungs explode."

"Do you ever think of anything besides finding a mate? And plus who said he'll be handsome, have you seen the male wolves of our pack? I'm sorry but they're average at best."

"Hah! Says you. I for one think that they're all sexy beasts. I bet they'd look sexier without shirts...and maybe pants too."

"Tis, please stop mentally undressing every guy we meet. You forget that I can also see all your f****d up fantasies, they're really disturbing and they're also why I don't let you take control."

"Wait just a minute! Don't you dare give me that holier than thou attitude! I know for a fact that you get nosebleeds from those so called 'f****d up fantasies' and..."

"And that it's time to stop talking to you and get back home, what a great idea."

"Hold on, I'm not done..."

"But I am, bye." She said before shutting Tis out and raced back home.

Within minutes she was finally home. She shifted back to her human form and went to her room to get two towels. She then headed to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get ready to take a bath. She filled the tub with hot water, lots of bubbles and about five rubber duckies.

Needless to say, she'd rather die than let anyone know that she still loved taking baths with rubber duckies. She sat in the tub, alone with her thoughts. Come to think of it, she barely saw any of the other wolves while she was out. Which was very weird considering that the pack was always lively at this time of the day, she figured that her dad might have something to do with it.

After 30 minutes of playing with her rubber duckies, she got out and grabbed a towel. She sat on the edge of the tub and used the other towel to dry her natural platinum blonde hair. She always wondered why she was born with this particular hair colour, her parents also had no clue why. Maybe it was to match with the colour of her wolf's fur, who knows.

Afterwards she went to her room and got dressed into a pair of black loose fitting jeans and a mid-sleeved black and white checkered shirt. She finished off the look with a pair of white sneakers, heels weren't her style even though she was short being only 4'11 tall. Knowing very well that her very naturally curly, and waist length hair couldn't be tamed, she let it fall loosely down her back and over one shoulder with her equally curly bangs just above her turquoise coloured eyes, partially covering her silvery brows.

She went downstairs to look for her dad and found him in the front yard.

"Hey Papa Wolf, I noticed that the pack was emptier than usual today. Got any clue?" She asked while walking towards him.

"Alpha Jace of the Blood Moon pack said he wanted to come over to discuss some urgent business with me. The other wolves were just getting the place ready for his arrival. Speak of the devil, here he comes."

A yellow Jeep pulled into the driveway of the house. The moment the doors opened, Twilight's nostrils were overwhelmed by the most heavenly scent she'd ever smelt. She felt like she was on a sugar rush and her heart that was beating fast with anxiety and excitement, like it was ready to jump out of her chest. Her eyes dilated and that emptiness she'd been feeling all these years completely vanished, hell she couldn't even remember what it felt like at that moment. She could feel herself breaking into a cold sweat and her stomach felt like it wanted to get rid of the cupcakes she had earlier to make room for the butterflies. It made her heart skip more than just a beat, pumping her with adrenaline but at the same time it was soothing and made her feel safe.

"Aaaah! That's our mate, we found him! That was quick, how lucky we are!" Tis said excitedly while mentally jumping around.
