“I have an issue with you? Boy are you arrogant”, Marcus responded, clearly angry. But Adam didn't respond. “Brother-in-law, just look at the way that guy is dressed, surely Richard did a bad job and meddled here, just send him out sent Fredick spoke again. This was the kind of person Adam hated the most, people who get arrogant when they have little power. “You're right Fredick, boy, you better leave before I get serious, Richard. teach him a lesson, Richard?” Marcus was shocked, he had never had to call Richard more than once. On the contrary, the one who appeared was a big man he had never seen before. “I don't think you should shout so much, the heavens can't answer you” Jason said with a hostile tone. Everyone in the room looked at Marcus. They all knew that a Smith was not to be trifled with. “Great, it looks like we have become kindly algos and some dogs think they can be modern. I think you've forgotten who we are.” All the guests felt an incredible chill at Marcus' words. Some even looked at Adam and Jason with pity. It looks like there will be two dead bodies today. But Adam and Jason remained stoic. “Sister what happened to you!” Fredick exclaimed. They all followed his gaze and were met with something unthinkable. Jessica was coming, she was covering her face as her eyes moistened, the blood and slap mark was noticeable. Marcus caught more signs and looked at Adam with eyes full of rage. He had even hit a Smith. “If it was you who hit her, prepare to die” It was the first time they had seen Marcus so angry. “The one who will die will be a young Smith today” Adam replied with a sinister smile. “The Smith matriarch must be completely blind, to think you're better than Lucas.” Adam continued his speech as he sat down. “Lucas?!” “Lucas Smith!?” Just like the scene before, at the mention of Lucas' name everyone grimaced with fear on their faces. Lucas was a taboo in the Smith family! Marcus' eyes darkened like the night itself. Jessica lowered her head in fear. “Hey, just go away, I really want to die!” Fredick shouted as he looked at his paralyzed brother-in-law. Adam ignored the boy and fixed his gaze solely on Marcus. “Tell me how Lucas died.” This wasn't a request, this was an order. Marcus clenched his fist, still not responding. Seeing this, Fredick decided to score points with his brother-in-law by answering him, “If you know him you know he was nothing but trash, his death is none of your business!” Feeling already part of the Smiths, Fredick continued speaking: “There is only one young Smith here and that is this, my brother-in-law, so how about you apologize to my brother, cut off your hand and leave!” Although Fredick's words were brimming with confidence, the look on Adam's face intimidated him. But no matter, Marcus was there to cover for him. “So if you don't want me to get serious, you'd better...” Plup! Fredick stopped, his face losing color little by little and ducking his eyes he realized. Adam was pointing at him with a demonic expression, though there was a considerable distance between them. Fredick's chest already had a hole three fingers wide. “You. You....” As a last move, Fredick, who was slowly losing his life, was approaching Adam but he fell after taking his steps. “A... An assassin!” Everyone present, including Marcus, froze. This guy had killed someone, but his expression hadn't changed. “Fredick!” The boy's blood was starting to cover the room, which was falling into chaos. The first to react was Jessica, who held her brother's body in tears. “Hey you, I want you to tell me who you are, now I'm pissed” Marcus' anger was not long in coming. “You fu**king demon, why did you kill my brother? I'll make you walk him to his grave”, Jessica said in tears. Adam looked at her without changing his expression, “There are names you can't insult, and you've already done it twice.” No one could match their friend's name and get away with it. Adam looked coldly at Marcus, then spoke, “I don't like to repeat telling me how Lucas died.” Marcus Smith was on the edge of the abyss, just as he was about to give the order to finish Adam off. The sound of a baton was heard. Next to him was the silhouette of an old woman. Although she seemed weak and helpless, her presence alone flooded the atmosphere. “Why so much chaos? What's going on?” Despite her age, the old woman's voice was authoritative. “Grandmother!” Marcus forgot all about Adam and helped the woman sit up. “Mmm? Who did this?” When she managed to sit up, the woman noticed the corpse. Although you could see her displeasure in her expression, she was calm, unlike the others. Adam analyzed the old woman. She had silver-dyed hair, dresses of the highest quality and jewelry of the highest glamour. There was no doubt, this was the matriarch of the Smiths, Lady Susan Smith. Marcus didn't know how to explain the scene, he simply looked at Adam with a look of disbelief. Picking up the cues, Susan chased her grandson's gaze until she met Adam's. “Who are you? It's your first time here, and you're already causing a fuss.” Adam smiled a cold smile, “Adam, that's me.” “Adam West?” Lady Susan narrowed her eyes. “You are the adopted son of Lorenzo West? I thought you disappeared ten years ago already, now you just happen to show up and come after my family? What courage you have!” When they heard Susan, everyone present became confident. The one in front of them was just an adopted son of the West. The West family couldn't even be considered a low-status family, and yet this guy dared to spill blood on the Smith family. It's unforgivable! “You had better give me a good explanation. After all, I got to know your father, but if you don't, maybe your family won't exist by tomorrow.” Lady Susan's words were stern, but they did not intimidate Adam. “Well, if you give me an explanation too, maybe the Smith family can make it to sunrise,” Adam said arrogantly. “So tell me, how did Lucas die?” “How dare you!” Lady Susan gave a frightened shout to all the guests. “You think you can come here and mock me, even if I like your father, it doesn't mean I can't finish them off!” “Marcus call Lorenzo, tell him he has 15 minutes to get here, or else his birthday will turn into a funeral!” “How dare you old lady...” “Jason Tennyso!” Adam stops Jason from making a move and continues speaking: “Lady Susan, haven't you been told that to keep secrets no one can know?” “Lucas Smith was my brother. If I only sought justice for his soul, if he truly committed suicide I would say nothing and accept the punishment for my actions, but if he was tortured and killed by someone...” Adam's voice grew colder and colder before he finished the sentence, “The Smith family will be buried with him.” Everyone present felt an aura of fear at hearing Adam's words. Lady Susan gritted her teeth before speaking. “Being a braggart will get you nowhere. Do you really think you can hold your own against the Smiths?” “You want me to prove it?” Adam rose from the chair, his presence so large and powerful that Jason's figure behind him seemed small. For the first time in a long time, Lady Susan was feeling fear. Worse, of a mere brat! “It can't be, I am Lady Susan, I am the matriarch of the Smiths, a young boy can't intimidate me”, Susan thought, as she looked at Adam's figure. But she held her composure and spoke: “Well, I heard that your adoptive father is already 55 years old today, it would be a good idea to give up your head.” With an arrogant smile, Lady Susan clapped her hands rhythmically three times. A man of about 55 years old, slim but with the eyes of a hunter, appeared in front of her. Marcus and all those who carried the Smith name were surprised, they knew more than anyone else who this figure was. Lady Susan and this man had been connected since time immemorial. This man was an elusive, powerful assassin. All the Smiths had great respect for him, he was like their ancestor. He had always done the dirty work for the Smith family. You could say that the reason the Smith family was so powerful was because of him. “Mr Edward, am I disturbing you?” spoke Lady Susan with great respect. “No my lady, as long as you respect the price of 15 million for his head, I can handle it” Confident in his victory Edward gave his price. “15 million for the head of the West? You've got to be kidding, it's a waste!” Marcus Smith complained. After his grandmother arrived, his confidence was sky-high. But on the contrary, Lady Susan's expression remained, she could still sense the boy's dangerous presence. “Money won't be a problem as long as the job gets done.”
