I groaned as I opened my eyes. Confused, I looked around. I was no longer on the training field. I was in a bed in the pack hospital. 'How did I get here?'
'You passed out.' My wolf answered me.
Slowly I sat up in the bed. I was alone in the room but saw my parents standing outside the door with the doctor.
"SHE'S WHAT?!" I heard my father roar shaking the room.
I jumped at his roar. Then I heard him storm out of the hospital with my mother shouting after him. A moment later, Dr. Mitchell walked into the room. "I see you are awake, Jemma." The man had taken care of the pack since before I was born. "How do you feel?"
I shrugged. I felt achy and a little dizzy. "Okay. What happened?"
"You collapsed during training."
I narrowed my eyes. I have never collapsed during training. "Why?"
He pressed his lips together as my mother walked into the room. She sat beside me on the bed. "Mom, what's going on?"
She looked at the doctor. "We need to talk, Jemma." She said with an air of disappointment in her voice. "Is she good to go?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes, Luna. Just take it easy, Jemma. No more training."
My heart jumped. "What! Why?!" I nearly screamed. "Mom!"
My mother shook her head as she grabbed my hand. "We need to talk."
"What's going on?" I felt tears brimming in my eyes. My mother rose from the bed and started to walk out of the room. I got up slowly, still feeling achy and dizzy. She wrapped an arm around me. We walked slowly out of the hospital and into the packhouse. I saw my brother sitting in the living room with Lewis and Jeremy.
"Jemma!" Iain jumped up and ran over to me. "You scared the s**t out of us."
I glanced at Jeremy, who was still sitting on the couch. 'I'm fine.' I mind linked him.
'You didn't look fine, Jemma.' He replied sadly.
"What happened?" I asked my brother.
"You collapsed. That's what happened." My brother explained.
My mother pulled me away from my brother. "We have to go talk to your father." She pulled me away from my brother and towards my father's office. Iain was just behind us. My mother turned to him. "Iain, go back to the living room. This is between your sister and us."
My brother started to say something, only to receive a look from my mother. He sighed and then went back to the living room. My mother pulled me into my father's office. My father sat behind his desk. His usually green eyes were nearly black with anger. He had a glass of liquor in his hand as he watched my mother and I walk in. I sat in a chair in front of his large desk while my mother went around and stood behind him with a hand on his shoulder.
I saw anger and disappointment in his eyes as he stared at me. I trembled. I hated it when he looked at me like this. "Daddy, what's wrong?"
My mother squeezed my father's shoulder. "Jemma, the reason you collapsed in training today is-" She paused as my father growled. "You are pregnant."
My mouth fell open. "What?!" I shook my head. There was no way. We only did it a couple of times. And it was my first. I thought in my head.
"I thought we taught you better than this," My father's voice was low and cold. I had only ever heard him use that tone with pack members who were being punished.
"I'm sorry, Daddy." I looked at my mother. She looked at the ground. "It was just one time. I didn't think I would get pregnant."
He growled. "Did you miss the part in s*x education where they said unprotected s*x leads to pups?" He glanced at my mother. "Didn't we cover that with her?" He then looked at me again. "Who is the culprit?"
"What?"
"The baby daddy. Tell me his name." My father ordered me.
I gulped. There was no way I could tell him it was Jeremy. There was no doubt my father would kill my boyfriend. "I-I," I stumbled with the words.
"Jemma, don't tell me you don't know his name. That would make this worse." My mother warned me.
Sighing, I kept my gaze on the floor.
"Tell us." My father growled. "Tell us now." He ordered in his alpha tone.
I couldn't disobey him. Tears brimmed in my eyes. "J-Jeremy." I nearly whispered.
My father growled loud enough to shake the walls and then ran out of his office with my mother close behind him. I was frozen for a moment until I heard growls and shouts coming from the living room. I ran out of the office to the living room. My father had Jeremy pinned to a wall by his throat.
Beta Mark ran into the room and glared at my father. "PHIL! Why are you strangling my son?" He ran over and tried to pry the alpha's hand off of Jeremy's throat.
"I AM GOING TO RIP OFF THIS LITTLE s**t'S TESTICLES AND SHOVE THEM DOWN HIS THROAT!" My father roared. Everyone in the living room was frozen.
Jeremy was starting to turn purple as he gasped for air. He looked at me with pleading eyes. "Daddy!" I shouted at him. "Please don't hurt Jeremy."
"PHILLIP!" My mother screamed at him. "Let him go."
My father growled one more time before letting Jeremy go. He fell in a heap at my father's feet coughing.
"What the hell was that all about?" Beta Mark growled at my father as he knelt to help his son to his feet. His mate Elizabeth had run into the living room and was standing next to her son and mate.
"That little son of a b***h got my daughter pregnant." My father bellowed.
Gasps of shock echoed through the room as Jeremy looked at me. 'Are you really pregnant?' He asked through the mind link.
'I guess so.' I replied. The eyes of the pack were looking between Jeremy and me.
"Phillip, let's talk about this like rational adults." My mother said while standing in front of him.
My father growled and stormed out of the room back to his office. Beta Mark and Elizabeth followed behind. Jeremy walked over to me and grabbed my hands.
"I'm sorry, Jeremy." I reached up and touched his bruised neck.
He smiled and leaned down to kiss me. "It's alright, Jemma."
My mother tapped on my shoulder. "Let's get to the office before your father gets even angrier." She headed down the hallway.
I walked hand in hand with Jeremy behind my mother. We entered the office and felt the tension in the air between my father and his beta. Beta Mark was leaning against a wall while his mate Elizabeth was sitting on one of the couches. Jeremy and I sat in the chair facing my father's desk. My mother stood behind my father with her hand on his shoulder.
"Mark, didn't you ever teach your boy about safe s*x?" My father growled at his beta.
The beta growled in response. "Did you teach your daughter the same? We all know she isn't completely innocent."
A growl rolled out of my father as he tried to stand up. My mother gripped his shoulder and held him down. "Phillip!" She barked. "We are here to talk. Not kill each other."
Jeremy stood up and looked my father in the eyes. "Alpha, I swear to you I intend to take full responsibility of my pup and take care of Jemma." He turned and flashed a brilliant smile at me. "I love her."
I smiled back at him, eliciting a growl from my father.
"And what about your future mates? Who is going to want a tainted she-wolf?" My father said to me. "You are supposed to save yourself for him."
I folded my arms. "Why is it okay for Iain to sleep around and not save himself for his mate, but I have to remain a virgin."
"We can fix this. I can have Dr. Mitchell get the medicine that will fix that."
I wrapped my arms around my stomach as I realized what he meant. "No, Daddy. I'm keeping my baby."
My mother slapped my father's arm. "Phillip, you did not just suggest aborting our first grandpup, did you?"
"It was just a suggestion." He mumbled.
Jeremy looked my father dead on. "Alpha, I want Jemma to be my chosen mate. We are meant to be together. I just know it."
"What happens if you meet your fated mate?" Beta Mark asked his son.
Jeremy stood up and then knelt in front of me. He looked me in the eyes. "I'll reject her because I only have eyes for Jemma." He smiled at me. "I love you, Jemma. Will you be my mate?"
I wanted to wrap my arms around him and kiss him. But I refrained while in view of our parents. "I love you, Jeremy. I want to be your mate." I looked at my parents.
"Well, you both have my blessing." My mother smiled at me.
"Mine too." Elizabeth chimed in. She looked at my mother. "I don't know about the rest of you, but I am excited for my first grandpup." That only made my father and her mate growl. "Oh, hush, you idiots."
My mother cleared her throat. "See, Phil, Mark. It's settled. The kids love each other. They own their mistake. Let's move on."
"I have work to do." My father indicated he was done with this conversation. He looked at the computer screen. "You can all leave now. Except for Mark."
Jeremy stood up and walked out of the office with our mothers behind us. Walking into the living room, I suddenly felt subconscious with the eyes of the pack on us. My brother and sister were sitting on one of the large couches. Whispered comments could be heard from the others.
My mother put her hands on her hips. "Have you never seen a pregnant woman before?" The pack members looked at the ground as their Luna addressed them. "I thought so. Now get back to your activities."
There were mumbles as most of the pack members walked out of the living room. My mother and Elizabeth walked out also. Iain walked over to us and glared at Jeremy.
"I can't even f*****g look at you." He growled at Jeremy.
Jeremy rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Iain. It's not like you are so innocent."
"But Jemma-" Iain sputtered. "How could you-"
"Iain, I didn't do anything to Jemma that she didn't ask for-" He smirked as my brother launched a fist into his face. Jeremy stumbled backward from the impact and spit blood. He balled up his fist.
"Will you two assholes knock it off," I shouted at them. "Iain, don't stand there acting all innocent when we know how much of a man w***e you are."
Iain sighed. "It's different."
I rolled my eyes and growled. "How? Just because you are a man, it's okay for you to sleep around, but I can't?"
My twin threw up his hands. "Whatever, Jemma. I just thought better of you. The least you could have done is use protection."
"Whoops." I snarled. "What's done is done. I love Jeremy, and he loves me. We are going to raise this pup together, and you are going to be awesome, Uncle Iain." I yelled at my brother.
Iain pressed his lips together as he glared at Jeremy, then softened his gaze at me. "You're right, Jemma." He pointed a finger at Jeremy. "You better keep your promise to take care of my sister, or I will kill you."
Jeremy smirked. "Whatever you say, alpha." He put his arm around me and kissed the side of my head. "Now, if you excuse me. My mate and I have some things to discuss." Iain growled as Jeremy pulled me out of the living room and towards his bedroom.
Once inside, I sighed as I sat on his bed. Breathing in deeply, I inhaled Jeremy's heavenly scent. 'You aren't too mad at me, are you?' I asked my wolf.
'You know I will always protect our pup no matter who the sire is.' Leonora responded.
'I'm sorry that Jeremy isn't our fated mate. But I love him.'
I heard her sigh. 'Then I will grow to love him too.'
"Are you talking to your wolf?" Jeremy sat beside me on the bed.
I leaned against his shoulder and nodded. "She will come around about us being chosen mates instead of fated mates."
He placed his hand on my belly and kissed my cheek. "I will always be here for you, Jemma. And our pup."
I twisted myself, so I was facing him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him towards me. I pressed my lips against his. We held the kiss for a moment before he began to kiss my neck and down my chest. His hands traced the skin on my belly. I giggled. "Let's finish what we started earlier." I purred to him as I took off my shirt.
He smiled and then pushed me onto the bed. He took off his shirt and then hovered over me, devouring my lips with his own. "I love you, Jemma." He whispered as our passion ignited. I could not be happier. I didn't care that I was only eighteen and pregnant. I had the man I loved and nothing was going to change that.
