Izzy’s POV
Somewhere nearby I can hear someone softly whimpering. It makes me wonder, and worry.
I open my eyes, to find myself in a brightly lit place, and it makes my eyes sting. It takes a little time for my eyes to adjust. I try to sit up, but I find my body to feel quite sore, and I quickly give up. I know where I am now, though. The medical clinic.
“Oh, good!” I hear my sister Amy say. “You’re finally awake!”
“You make it sound like I’ve been here for a while,” I say, the sound of my voice raspy. I’m obviously thirsty. And starved! “I’m really hungry. I hope I haven’t missed dinner.”
